We had dinner on a Saturday Evening.. I do beleive everyone from a 200 mile radius was at this location! That being said, We were all very impressed at the quaility and speed of the food that was being refreshed on the bar. All staff are super friendly here!

“For a buffet that everyone can get what they want...A+”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

We are locals and have been going to this Golden Corral for 10 years and for $9.95 per person, all you can eat, nice service....you can't beat it! We have dined at Golden Corrals all over and they do not compare! The Golden Corral on Hwy 55, has the largest buffet anywhere: best salad bar (I'm a salad lover), fruits, mixed salads, (they have dried cranberries and blue cheese wedges), soups, Mexican bar, Italian bar, Asian Bar, always steak cooked to order if you like, a special of fish, ribs, prime rib, wings, etc, and all of the country home cookin' food that you can think of. A seafood section and potato bar too. There is literally something for everyone!
There is a bread station with as many wheat butter rolls that you could want, and a dessert bar to put a Bar Mitzvah to shame! Cotton Candy, Ice Cream Machine and Stand, Chocolate fountain, pies, cookies, brownies, cakes, and my favorite (and I am a Southern girl), the best banana puddin' you have had in a long time :)
On to the service.....we actually have always gotten the same server for 10 years. He seems to always be there, unless of course it is $0.99 kid's night, then you get mom's it seems :) The servers are nice, attentive, keep your table clean and your drinks filled. I have always gotten, good friendly service here. Which is why we always go back. Armando is our favorite :)
Also consider their Saturday/Sunday breakfast/brunch bar. It starts early. If you want some of both, get there by 10:30am. It is always crazy good!
So, don't snarl your nose at the Golden Corral when you are in the Triangle. It is actually worth driving for if you want good, American, home cookin'. Enjoy :)

“Food Very Good!!!”
Reviewed August 14, 2012

Hwy 55 Golden Corral food was very good (@ 4.5 miles away). We got 6 to go plates from buffet. Cashier was very nice he threw in 6 extra yeast rolls at no charge. Everyone said the food was tasteful and did not have that frozen taste. It really tasted home cooked! Seafood and mac and cheese the best! Give them a try if you're in town!

“Never disappoints”
Reviewed May 8, 2012

Excellent salad bar, steak, shrimp, ribs and the yeast rolls was heaven. Good food overall. They ran out of orange soda but that’s okay. I wish I had room for desert but, I was stuffed. You know I’ll be back.

“Even sale price a poor deal.....”
Reviewed December 22, 2011

Went in at 11 a.m. sharp with discount lunch coupon. Had to search through silverware to find clean forks. Then we went to the bar. They were serving stone-cold yesterday's fried shrimp---hard, tough, cold, and obviously not fresh. Then had a taco salad. I asked the waitress for taco sauce, and she responds, "I dunno, no speak English." Never got any so didn't eat it.

Went to dessert bar and floor was flooded! Pointed it out to management, who seemed not to be concerned. He had OUR WAITRESS clean it up with mop and bucket. After tidying up, she did not was her hands and continued serving food. 5 minutes later she takes a bottle of pump handle Febreeze and saturates the entire dessert area with the spray, again, not washing her hands when finished.

Went up to dessert bar and soft serve ice cream was watery to the point of being milk. Waitress said not to worry, and pointed to 4 barrels of hard-pack ice cream in another section. When we went to scoop it out, it too, had the appearance of thick milk. Tried to put hot fudge and hot caramel on the "cream," but it was NOT HOT---thick oily and gooey, but definitely not hot.

Sorry, Golden Corral, this visit didn't cut it. Should have saved our money but instead, we wasted it on garbage.
