I've been to Foster's many times and it doesn't disappoint. Today my friend and I had the hummus wrap. The sandwiches are a good size - they don't really come with sides, but the sandwich was plenty big enough. Great atmosphere with the market of specialty goodies. If you don't like a crowd, avoid Sunday brunch time. They have a bunch of funky chairs on the front lawn that helps accommodate the crowds, and it's kinda fun to sit and eat in the front yard.

Great from-scratch scones, cakes, pies, cookies. The Coconut Cake and Key Lime Pie are my go-to items. Fresh salads by the pound. Sandwiches and some casseroles. Order-Ahead meals. Great for tailgates and picnics. Her location in Durham has the most character.

I really like Foster's; it's especially fun to have a place to take the dog during the summer months on the sprawling outdoor porch. We've also done one of their upscale local food dinners and it was excellent. I love any of their cold side salads, and their baked goods are always a hit (I usually get a pound cake or pie to take to friends or family because they are so good). I like Durham Foster's better than Chapel Hill because there's so much more outside area.

This place has a pretty cool atmosphere but the food is okay. It's not that expensive so it's still worth going for brunch or lunch.

My sandwich was over $10, and it tasted awful. The turkey was dry and chewy, the bread was stale and hard. Also, the entire thing lacked flavor. For over $10, I didn't get a side or a drink, just a really nasty sandwich.
