I live within walking distance, how can I not love it? Fried okra and potato salad after a hard day's work in the yard is the best.

Some of the best non-NC BBQ I've ever had. Incredible ribs and brisket. I'd skip the sides and get extra meat.
After a disappointing visit to Bullock's, we were excited to find this restaurant, which serves bbq close to our favorite bbq place in Nashville. While there could be some more non-fried vegetables on the menu, the portions are generous and what they do serve is tasty. They also have a live bluegrass band the second Sunday evening of every month.
Excellent bbq, turkey, and brisket -- always a tough choice. The sweet tea is nice too. A great lunch spot. Oh, and they also do delicious Thanksgiving turkeys.
We had two different meals when we visited The Q Shack.
The first was a BBQ Chicken sandwich with hush puppies and side salad. I don't know who made the BBQ sauce for the chicken but it tasted absolutely awful! Like they took some generic tomato-based BBQ sauce and dumped in an entire can of black pepper.
The second was a Pulled Pork sandwich, which was pretty good.
If not for the awful chicken sandwich this restaurant would be getting a better review. If you want great BBQ in the Durham area, I would suggest Hog Heaven. If it involves pork, they just seem to do it better than anyone else. A close second place is The Barbeque Joint in Chapel Hill. The pudding at the Joint is amazing!
