“Wide range of Interesting and Tasty Choices”
Reviewed March 12, 2014 via mobile

The menu offers a pan European of starters, pastas, risottos, pâtés, mussels and salads as well a numerous fish, poultry and pork items. The fresh pasta starters were excellent, with sophisticated tastes and comfortable portions. The schnitzel and trigger fish were excellent, cooked and seasoned on the mark. Only the desserts were less exciting and that may well have been our choices. The wine list was also diverse and interesting, overall a great choice for dining with friends who enjoy company with fine food.

“Food and Service Second to None!”
Reviewed March 10, 2014

We had heard about Nana's from many folk and finally had an opportunity to dine there. Everything we had heard was true, they have the service and food everyone had told us to expect! We had noted on their website that they have a menu that varies from month to month based on what food is available for that particular month. Upon arrival we found that the menu can also vary from day to day on what the chef has found to be fresh and available. It makes for a great dining experience. Along with the menu that has Appetizers, Entrees, Wine and Desserts, they have a Tasting Menu that provides an excellent variety of their offerings. We used the main menu. The Risotto was wonderful... as were the entrees Pan Roasted Venison Loin (which melted in your mouth and was not gamey at all) and the Firsthand Pork Schnitzel which was excellent!! We were stuffed, but did share a Creme Brulee which was also delicious!

The service was top notch. Our waitress, Sam, was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. She was attentive to our needs and very relaxed and friendly in the way she moved from table to table.

The attire was mixed... Everything from dressed up to very casual. Lots of Duke sweatshirts on the night we were there.

Certainly can recommend Nana's for anyone wanting a great dining experience. Be sure to make reservations, especially on weekends. The meal, if you get an appetizer, entree, wine and dessert, will cost around $60+ per person...and will stuff you completely. If you are wanting to pinch your wallet a bit, or are not starved, I would recommend any of their appetizers, maybe two (with one being a salad), and your drink, and you will full and out for around $25 dollars, or less, each. We WILL be back!!!

“As Good As Advertised”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

After reading several trip Advisor Reviews, we chose Nana's for an evening meal, during a brief visit to Durham.

The restaurant is bright, cheer & nicely decorated with a variety of modern paintings. The table side service was courteous and adequately attentive.

The menu is somewhat eclectic, but each of our selections were very well prepared with nice quality ingredients and attention to detail.

A nice dining experience, and worth a visit.

“Reliably excellent”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

We just moved from Durham, but Nana's was truly our go-to place for excellent seafood. You can never go wrong with their halibut or snapper dishes. Their menu is creative and always changing. Definitely check out the risotto as a first course. It never fails to impress.
This is not a trendy restaurant. You don't go here to be "seen." But it has a classic style; the service and food never disappoint.
