“Eccentric, Good Food, Great Prices & Terrific Folks!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2014

Being from Texas, we know a few things about great tacos. Nana Taco was great. It more like making your own whatever meets your fancy. Lots of meat choices: pork cheek, duck, lamb, roasted chicken, etc. and even fried oysters. Portions are generous and prices are terrific. The salsa bar has many different home-made condiments, sides and dressings. In addition, it has a great selection of beers. The folks are wonderful and keep the line moving and tables cleaned. Not your cookie-cutter Chipotle.

“Enjoyed”

I had the Torta (sandwich) with the Chili Rubbed Pork Butt. It was moist & tasty & the roll they serve it on was fresh & crust was crispy. Choice of beans on the side as well as rice. Plenty of food for the money & fun salsa bar. Others at the table had burritos & chicken mole which was very authentic. Plenty of choices on the menu. We will go back our next trip to Durham.

Not a bad meal, just nothing special. Decent salsa bar and good meat options. They give you a good amount of food for the price.

“Outstanding Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2014 via mobile

My family and I met an old friend for lunch on his suggestion. All I can say is wow! My daughter and I had the garlic beef tacos on corn tortillas and they were amazing. Great flavor, authentic tortilla and super fresh. My wife had the fish tacos and loved them. We had the chips and guacamole as well and the guacamole was smooth, creamy and had a hint if heat to it. My daughter also ordered the spicy chocolate milkshake and said that it was out of this world.

If we are lucky enough to visit the area again, we will be back!!!

“Fast food, but not that kind of fast food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2014

Great tacos here, with a wide variety of ingredients and a wonderful salsa bar. You order at a counter and pick up your drinks, and then your food is brought to you. If you order the 3-taco combo (which is very popular) they let you choose 3 different tacos if you want.

Of the three times I've been here, the food has arrived very quickly every time (and this was on Saturday lunchtimes and Saturday night). I recommend the fish tacos and the garlic beef tacos particularly. The guac is good--not absolutely outstanding, but good. The nachos and the Mexican chocolate shakes are great! The only thing I have ever not enjoyed here is the calamari, which is a little too thinly sliced and overly breaded, and served with a weird mustard sauce that does nothing for it.

The restaurant itself is fun and casual, if a bit noisy (music and enormous TV contribute to that). They have a small patio out back, but most of the seating is inside. Many people bring their small children here, because it's fast and inexpensive and reasonably healthy. The biggest drawback to coming here is the lack of parking--you have to be lucky and fast.
