Description: Tobacco Road is not a sports bar. Brothers Brian, Alex and Rommie Amra share a passion for both sports and good food. Unfortunately, they found that their favorite places to watch the game were never the same as their favorite places to eat, and decided to remedy this for the people of the Triangle. As a result, the Amras are unwavering in their insistence that as much emphasis be placed on the menu as what’s on the 40+ HDTVs that surround guests in the Tobacco Road bar. For a quieter and more formal dining experience, guests can enjoy their meal in the main dining room or reserve Tobacco Road's private dining room for special events. Tobacco Road strives to provide its guests with: 1. Fresh, delicious food. 2. Exceptional service. 3. All that the sports fan could ask for.

We had an opportunity to eat the the Tobacco Road Sports Cafe on a Sunday night. We got to the restaurant at around 8pm and were promptly seated by a hostess who really looked like we were the last people in the world she wanted to see and help. The restaurant wasn't too busy and a lot of the clientele were there watching the game, drinking some beer. Truly, if you're into sports, the setup here is fantastic and includes pretty much the largest TV I've ever seen.

Everything was great up until we had our orders taken. Our server seemed not very attentive. We each ordered a beer and it took forever for us to get our beverages. I opted to try the crab bisque and a tobacco road steak sandwich and both came out at the same time. Each was completely delicious. The biggest gripe for us was when it came to our server bringing us drinks. We asked for drinks when we received our entrees. We finally got them after we were finished with the entree, and then two of them were totally forgotten about!

Overall, I think I'd be willing to give Tobacco Road Sports Cafe another shot but may opt to sit at the bar or speak to a manager this time around if the service is lacking again. Also, the hostess we had really needs to learn how to smile or at least act like the last thing she wants to be doing is bringing clientele to a table!

The food is good, the TVs always have a variety of sports on the screens, and you can catch a Durham Bulls game from the patio. The best part of this place is its location. The food is good and the service is good, but nothing too outstanding. It is a fair price for food.

Went here for drinks before attending a show at DPAC. There were 6 of us, all adults, and we wanted drinks/apps at bar. There were about 9 children, average age about 10, seated at the bar drinking water. We were told that children could sit at bar as there were no liquor laws in NC stating they could not. The staff then put us at the outside bar where we waited for quit some time before a bartender showed up. Limited drinks outside and we were told that if place got busy, they could not serve us certain draft beers from inside. Then why wouldn't they put those same children at the outside bar and let us "drinking" adults enjoy inside where we could get our beers? Food was good however and about the best macaroni/cheese around. But I doubt we will go there again for drinks/apps before a DPAC show.

I attended a show at the DPAC and ate dinner prior to the show. It had the feel of a sportsbar with the televisions everywhere but the food was quite good. In addition to seating inside, they offered heated outdoor seating. There was an amazing view of the Durham Bulls Stadium from the inside. Staff were polite and attentive. I certainly recommend this Cafe.

Likes - elevated bar food, good tv set-up, service has been great, locations in Raleigh and Durham, the Durham location overlooks the Durham Bulls stadium. You can eat here and catch a Bulls Game
