We had an opportunity to eat the the Tobacco Road Sports Cafe on a Sunday night. We got to the restaurant at around 8pm and were promptly seated by a hostess who really looked like we were the last people in the world she wanted to see and help. The restaurant wasn't too busy and a lot of the clientele were there watching the game, drinking some beer. Truly, if you're into sports, the setup here is fantastic and includes pretty much the largest TV I've ever seen.
Everything was great up until we had our orders taken. Our server seemed not very attentive. We each ordered a beer and it took forever for us to get our beverages. I opted to try the crab bisque and a tobacco road steak sandwich and both came out at the same time. Each was completely delicious. The biggest gripe for us was when it came to our server bringing us drinks. We asked for drinks when we received our entrees. We finally got them after we were finished with the entree, and then two of them were totally forgotten about!
Overall, I think I'd be willing to give Tobacco Road Sports Cafe another shot but may opt to sit at the bar or speak to a manager this time around if the service is lacking again. Also, the hostess we had really needs to learn how to smile or at least act like the last thing she wants to be doing is bringing clientele to a table!
