We had to sit at the bar for lack of space...not a big deal. A couple of dishes were already sold out even though it was just 7 in the evening....they had oysters...but NOT NC oysters which are my personal favorite. They had Gulf, Virginia and Maryland which taste very different from NC oysters. The dish to get is the lobster Mac and Cheese...it is very good, creamy and rich! The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable of the drinks and the menu. I have not been back, but, I would visit again.

The food here is awesome but the ambiance leaves a bit to be desired. The dining area is a little cramped, our table was on its last leg (literally) and due the the proximity of the kitchen the dining room was a bit smokey. Service was excellent and fast even on a busy night. I had the shrimp and grits which were awesome.. My hubby had steak and lobster Mac which he loved. Key lime pie was ok but not great....

We stopped in for a drink and ran into a friendly and fun bar tender. We ended up having the soft shell crab for an appetizer. Since we were visiting my brother and unfamiliar with the area he gave us some great tips on places to go!

Blu is a casual spot with a deft hand at seafood. Shrimp and grits redolent with just enough mushrooms, applewood smoked bacon and a dash of lemon over wonderfully creamy grits. NC trout perfectly cooked with crispy pan seared skin.

A step above your normal seafood dining experience, Blu Seafood Bar offers some unique pairings for flavorful seafood dishes. Nice effort for presentation of dishes and service was very good. Would have given an excellent review, however our seating option was less than "comfortable and accommodating". (Corner table with suede-covered bench seat not conducive to "sliding in").
