A wonderful historic landmark which everyone should visit when you pass through Durham, North Carolina. This was the scene of the largest surrender of the American Civil War, which took place April 26, 1865 between General Joseph E. Johnston and General William T. Sherman. This 37 acres state of North Carolina historic property has an excellent Visitor Center and a reconstruction of the Bennett family farm.
Looking forward to seeing the big surrender commemoration April 26-27, 2008.
