Stayed here while attending the Traditional Latin Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Dunn. My rate of $81/night (not including tax) was excellent value for the money. No unpleasant surprises here! The room was immaculately clean, just the right size, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The wireless broadband Internet functioned seamlessly with my laptop, no sign-on hassle as happens at some hotels. The complimentary hot breakfast was excellent, especially the sausage gravy and biscuits. They have a restaurant license with a near-perfect sanitation grade (98.5%). They also allow you to take breakfast back to the room, which some hotels don't do, though there is a nice sitting area off the lobby. The TV is adequate but some channels are snowy, probably just poor connections. The shower head is, of course, compliant with water-saver regulations, but the water pressure is acceptable, not a trickle as I've found in some hotels. There is no pool; the Holiday Inn Express concept is stripped-down affordable comfort, not "bells and whistles". There is a large convenience store within walking distance that sells the Raleigh News and Observer, not available at the hotel. The only "minus" I could name is that there is no outdoor sitting area. A couple of benches would be nice. There is no place to smoke or enjoy a beverage outside, and a dedicated smoker's area would come in handy if one rents a non-smoking room for family members but still wishes to smoke outside. It is near a quiet residential area and there is no noise whatsoever from the nearby interstate. Dining options in Dunn are limited; there is a Sagebrush steakhouse adjacent to the hotel, but I didn't try it. I will definitely stay here again and will keep Holiday Inn Express in mind when traveling elsewhere.

The volume on the TV's will only go up half way, and with the heat / Air conditioner on you will not be able to hear. I complained to the manager the next day, mainly because my son is hearing impaired and he was not able to watch cartoons. Her reply was, sorry, there's nothing I can do. I told her it would have been nice to be informed BEFORE checking in that the volume on all tvs are regulated, and only go up half way. Unfriendly staff, I'll never stay there again. Drive a little further and stay in Fayetteville instead, a much nicer Holiday Inn.

We had no problems when we stayed here in March. Everything was very clean, and spacious. We loved having a king size bed.

Well, the hotel itself was very clean, comfortable beds, nicely made up. Didn't like the way the sink was at the doorway. As soon as you open the door the sink is there! The area isn't that great, not much to see there. They do give you a complimentary breakfast but we didn't have that because we were kept awake most of the night by the noisy people on our floor. Very rude and up all night, talking loud, slamming doors etc. Finally we got up at 4 a.m. and left!!! Another thing is that there is no elevator so if your older or handicapped I would suggest the first level.
Wouldn't stay there again because we had an unpleasant experience but it was nice and clean and in the end thats a good thing. Don't eat at the Sagebrush Steakhouse, yuk.
Not much else around that area.

The hotel was clean and the staff nice. The bad thing was that our hotel keys were deactivated both nights we were there and we had to go down to get them reactivated. There is no elevator. The staff tends to clean the rooms with all doors open at once. No cinnamon rolls at breakfast, but otherwise ok breakfast. Finally, the biggest detractor is the neighborhood, there seemed to be a lot of random people wandering about and we saw a high police presence and at least one man being chased by the police. The parking lot tends to fill up and the walk back into the hotel seemed a bit creepy. Next time, we're going into Raleigh instead!
