“Everything people say is true!”

Married in Duck one year before this restaurant was established (that’s 26 years ago, folks), and this is our first dinner there. Why did we wait so long? I have no idea.

Yes, it’s pricey, but the service and food were both exceptional. Husband had the flounder special, I had the pork chop. Delicious.

Love, love LOVE the reservations – so respectful to the vacationer. If you’re picky about time, make reservations more than one day in advance … but 9 p.m. is good, quiet and gives you plenty of time to get home from the beach and cleaned up.

“Fantastic meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 17, 2014

When in Duck, OBX you have to try Blue Point. The She Crab soup is the best soup I had in a very long time and the whole meal was exceptional. Reservations are not easy to come by, but we enjoyed ourselves at the outside bar listing to a live band, while waiting for our table. With a few drinks it is not inexpensive, and maybe not the choice if you have small children, but outside of this highly recommended.

“Expensive but worth the $$”

We had a great experience. They accommodated our large group of 13 and got all of our orders right. Beautiful view of sunset on the sound!

“NOT KID FRIENDLY”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2014

The location is great! Beautiful view. Our waitress for the evening was Elaine, she was cordial but not attentive at all. The menu has nice selections but no one at our table was impressed with their accompaniments ... Just OK. There is NOTHING on the menu to accommodate children.... Seriously .... Nothing. When we asked our waitress what they can do for kids she quipped that they have buttered noodles they can make for kids...Wow, Unimpressed . My daughter was so disappointed the only option we had was from the appetizers which was chipotle ribs. Or their pimento mac and cheese, we decided to get both and hope for the best. The rest of the table was happy enough with their entrees but truly nothing was anything special. The mac and cheese we got for our daughter was not that great (can't hold a candle to Ocean boulevard in kitty hawk). It was beyond dry, more of a bar of Mac and cheese.... Hard , crisp, and dry. They clearly do not want to cater to families, honestly if you have kids. Don't bother...I get the impression most of the items are prepared in advance hence their lack of accommodating any "made to order requests". Shame. Not worth the money for the meal.... All in all just ok. Definitely not a keeper....

“Make the reservation now”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2014

My boyfriend and I always have a date night on our annual family trip to Duck. Never tried Blue Point and now never want to miss it. We didn't make a reservation due to dragging feet. We were offered 2 seats at the bar as a reservation. Huh? But ok, hostess was upbeat and assured me the bar wasn't a hang out. Now, I will ask for the bar. Erin our bartender was COOL and funny and her knowledge of menu was invaluable. We had a blast! We had a couple on each side, one was locals and one was repeat vacationers, both whom never miss Blue Point. Serving size of food was generous! My boyfriends pork chop was more like a ribeye. I had the limited item crab sauté, a major score! This will be a winner of a stop for foodies and minimalists alike. wine list not to be missed! Did I mention the fabulous sunset views! By all means GO!!!
