“The Blue Point - a crucial high point of every visit to Duck, NC!”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

For the past 15 years, my husband I have been vacationing on Duck, NC. Each time, The Blue Point has been a key attraction for at least one, usually two exceptional meals during our week-long visits. There has never been a meal to disappoint. We've tried almost every Duck and several other restaurants north of Duck and in Corolla. The Blue Point continues in first place. We live in Northern Virgina and have enjoyed the finest in dining there and in DC so this is high praise. Service is consistently warm, responsive, and professional. Location is incomparable - on the sound for amazing sunsets. Music and entertainment always appropriate for the venue, pleasingly eclectic, and not too loud. Conversations can be had! See you, Blue Point, in September!

“Low country cuisine”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

They made space for a party of 7 at the last minute in the back room and for that we were grateful. Cocktail list is extensive and all that we tasted was delish! Limited but interesting wine selections. Service was a little harried. All of us enjoyed our appetizers and salads more than the entrees. She crab soup, wedge & Caesar salads well prepared. Fried catfish & crab cakes were just OK.

“The Blue Point Gets a Blue Ribbon”
Reviewed June 25, 2014 via mobile

We went for dinner on a Wednesday evening. We tried to get reservations earlier in the day, but they were booked. They told us there were 8 tables available for walk-ins, so we got there at 5pm when they opened. Good thing we did because other couples were doing the same. We were seated within a few minutes. I ordered the gnocchi which was good, and my husband ordered the tuna fillet which was also good. Our waiter was prompt and attentive. The atmosphere was more upscale than other restaurants in the area, but the patrons were dressed casually. The windows were low and looked out over the sound. Definitely ask for a table near the windows. We ordered two glasses of wine each with our meal. My husband also had the tomato and mozzarella salad...again it was good. Portion sizes were reasonable, prices were higher end. The total bill came to about $112, plus tip. Yes, I would recommend this place and I would return.

“Great restaurant for a superb meal!”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

I was hoping for a wonderful meal while out with my husband in Duck. The blue Point did not disappoint me! While the hostesses were not particularly friendly in greeting us (yes, we did have reservations) our server more than made up for them. He was so friendly and knowledgeable on everything on the menu. We ordered shrimp for an appetizer, catfish and crab cakes as our main course, and crawfish coleslaw. We topped off our meal with creme brûlée. EVERYTHING was superb. If you ever venture to Duck, NC, make sure you eat here! I hope to sneak in another visit before we leave!
