“HIDDEN GEM”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

We were hungry for some seafood, but didn't want to pay "an arm and a leg", so decided to give Coastal Cravings a try for carryout. My sister and I ordered the shrimp and chips. The breading was a light breading on the shrimp, and that is the way I like it. They also make their own shrimp sauce, which is a combination of shrimp sauce and mayonnaise. It was quite different but very good. It came with a lot of french fries. There was no skimping on them. Hubby ordered the fish and chips. It was wahoo fish, but he wasn't real pleased with it. The fish was "rubbery" and did not have any flavor. He said he would not order that again. Shrimp was good, and they had our orders ready in no time at all. Would probably return again.

“Unfortunate experience”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

I went there for lunch and found a less than enthusiastic wait staff sitting around, thumbs on their phones. Then I went to place an order to go at the counter & heard an unfortunate row between the order taker & someone in the kitchen. For as much as they're charging for average food, I expected a better experience.

“Tasty treat...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

A laid back and surprising little spot for a tasty lunch out on OBX with great selection of sandwiches. Our group tried the crab cake sandwich, fish taco, NC pulled pork and apparently the best cheeseburger in a while! All deemed delicious and each came with excellent skinny fries and we left very empty plates. Friendly wait staff too.

“terrific little find.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

Great little hidden gem in Duck, NC. Service was the best, food even better. The crab cakes rock! You have to watch for it or you will miss it. I would absolutely go there every time I'm in the OBX. Heard about it from Diners Drive-ins and Dives.
