Description: If a special evening of dining is in your plans, look no further than Kimball’s Kitchen, formerly the Left Bank. Located on the Soundside of the Sanderling Resort, Kimball’s offers glorious view of the Currituck Sound and its inspiring sunsets, outstanding service and a world class menu. Kimball’s Kitchen offers everything that is special about both the Sanderling and the Outer Banks. Spotlighting local, grass-fed prime steaks, freshly caught local seafood, and an extensive raw bar selection, the restaurant creates a great dining experience with an upscale coastally casual environment. Of particular note are the numerous varieties of local oysters and the classic seafood tower, with a daily changing list of locally caught fish and seafood. Daily pasta and risotto specials are accompanied by an extensive Wine Spectator wine and champagne list. Children are welcome and are served smaller portions of the standard menu with a 50% price break.

Last stayed at Sanderling 2 years ago when this was 'Left Bank,' its somewhat pretentious but delicious 5-course French restaurant. Enjoyed that experience but felt it was too highbrow for most beach vacationers. Now, KImball's Kitchen is every bit as lovely but more accessible to families, both in style and by menu. Kimball's is now a steak and seafood restaurant with a well-trained staff, excellent food, and extensive wine selection. Lisa, Matthew, and Shawn are stars, server, sommelier, and bartender, respectively. Fabulous experience!

We returned to Kimball's Kitchen because we loved it last year. When we reserved we knew to ask for a table by the windows. Our waiter was efficient and helpful. He assured us we would not rush us when we declined ordering our entrees when ordering an app. We ordered oysters and crab fritters. I had ahi tuna which was very good, cooked perfectly. My husband had mahi mahi. That was okay, but he loved the side of spinach.
We shared the creme brûlée. It was one of the best I've ever had. Wine was pretty pricey. Our bill came to $200, with tax and tip. Because we were on vacation, we felt it was worth the splurge. I could not justify that unless it was a special occasion.

There is no place comparable on the outer banks for a combination of atmosphere, food quality and view. White linen table cloths and service to match. A notch above other places. Spacious and nicely paced. The food was excellent, my wife had rack of lamb: excellent! I had the prime NY strip, and it was worth every penny. Melted in your mouth. Salads and side dishes were also tasty and well prepared. The wine list was very good. It is pricey, but definitely worth it. It's a great place for a great meal and to feel "special", even with family and kids.

We had dinner here with our family of five. We were seated at a window table where we could see the sunset. The service was above and beyond. Our server was Nicole and she was very helpful with recommendations for dinner. My kids were amazed that the kitchen which is open to the dining room was quiet and well run. ( They are a fan of Hell's Kitchen). The food was also superb. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the scallops and tuna were cooked to perfection. It is pricey but well worth it.

Kimballs Kitchen is a wonderful restaurant with mouth watering food and a lovely view of the water.the petite filet was cooked to perfection with wonderful side dishes that included lobster macaroni and cheese, creamed corn, sautéed mushrooms and spinach. The sides are extra but worth it. Another person in our party had the veal chop and raved about it. Desserts are just as wonderful, we ordered a few to split with the table, they were chocolate creme brûlée, bananas foster bread pudding, and the trio of sorbet, which were lemon blood orange, and passion fruit and each dessert was a treat.
