Nor'Banks has kept me entertained for years in all weather conditions with tons of activities, friendly people and great facilities. There is a large diverse fleet of well maintained sailboats to cover all skill levels and adventure seekers. Whether you want a family friendly cruise on a Flying Scot with your lunch coolers packed, or fast sail on a catamaran, Nor'Banks has the boat for you.

If you don't sail, you'll find jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, parasailing and between them all is a great lawn that usually has bocci and cornhole waiting to keep you busy. There is even a little beach area that is perfect for tiny kids to play while older family members are on a craft.

Seriously, I can't say enough good things about this place. It has provided fun and entertainment to my family for years and I usually come here BEFORE going to the beach! If it's too hot on the beach, go sailing. If it's too rainy on the beach...rent a catamaran (you're wet anyway!), If it's too windy on the beach, it's perfect for a sail. If it is stifling hot and there is no breeze...come paddle and play in the only hard bottom sound spot in the outer banks! (really...no soft silt, no seaweed, just some crabs to nibble your toes and the only hard bottom I've found in this stretch of the 'banks).

Give Nor'Banks a try. Pack a cooler and spend the afternoon on their lawn or one of their boats. They won't rush you out and you can sit on the pier enjoying your vacation while you watch your kids or a friend paddle around you on a SUP or kayak.

I attended a one week sailing school at Nor'Banks and learned all the basics of sailing. It had been a very long held dream of mine to learn to sail, and having heard of Nor'Banks Sailing, went to OBX to do it. Nor'Banks didn't disappoint!! Their staff is wonderful and knowledgeable. The attention they give you is far greater than I had expected. Their equipment is first rate and well maintained. The cost is very reasonable. While there, I also para-sailed... another incredible experience with a seasoned and competent staff! The people at Nor'Banks made my week in OBX one of the most awesome vacations I have ever had! I would very highly recommend them!!

We go to Duck every summer and always spend time at Nor'Banks. It's a great break from hanging on the beach with a ton of activities --- sailing, paddle boarding, and kayaks are all kid favorites. Nor'Banks facilities are awesome, and really family-friendly. Nice big lawn for hanging out in between activities. Bathroom and snacks for the kids. The staff is always friendly and really helpful. No experience necessary -- they will teach you whatever you need to know. Seeing Duck from the sound is a great experience.

Even though I have earned the title of 'Capn Capsize' there for my poor sailing ability, I've learned much from my experieinces at Nor'Banks. Largely due to the patience of Jon Britt & his great staff. Give it a try-don't be embarrassed-take it from Capn Capsize!

Highly recommended
