Found this trip by accident, turned out to be a blast. This guy Brian really did a super job taking us on a boat ride to a winery. Lots of fun and beautiful trip across the sound . Who would think we went to the beach to drink wine.

This trip was the highlight of our visit to the Outer Banks. The boat trip takes you across the sound where the family enjoyed seeing the wildlife and spotting a bald eagle in the trees. Captain Brian was very informative and shared facts about the area along the way. The boat takes you to a safari like truck for a ride to the vineyard. We got a tour around the winery and tasted a variety of great wines. It was a fun time and unique experience, highly recommend!

Great afternoon experience seeing the coast area by boat on the way over and then some great wines to taste and needless to say we purchased a couple of bottles!

The amazing and knowledgeable Captain Brian was our host. We boarded his custom made pontoon style boat for the crossing from Duck. Brian kept us entertained with history and fascinating facts. We were a very jolly party, and bonded during our tip. After the boat, we boarded a truck for the short drive to the vineyard for wine tasting. I've never been a fan of American wines (felt they were a little too sweet) but, my word, how they have improved!! Of the 'several' samples, I was impressed by over 90%. I will now be ordering US wines with the Sanctuary's pedigree. After our sipping, we were back to floating to Duck. This was one of the top highlights of our trip. Do it!

Vineyard Voyage through Kitty Hawk Kites was such a wonderful experience. We left from Kitty Hawk Kites Dock located in Duck NC.around 1, From there we met our Captain and boarded the custom designed 20+ seater boat. We took a beautiful boat ride on the sound which took about 25 min. or so, it was awesome to be on the water with a great breeze and the sun shining. From there we docked at the back of Sanctuary Vineyards located in Currituck, it was so beautiful!! They had a custom truck that seated 20 or so people waiting for us, that drove us from the water through the farmland and to the vineyard. It was a an extremely unique perspective of the Outer Banks, on the drive through the vineyard we were blessed to see a deer running through the brush and a million butterflies, a bald eagle and even an osprey! For nature lovers this will be the highlight of your trip! Once we got to the vineyard we had a tour of the facilities and learned a little bit about the history. We tasted 11 wines with a few being made right there in house! I ended up purchasing the Pearl Reserve that was a deliciously crisp white perfect for summer. We got to take home a custom glass to remember our trip and headed back to the beach side on the boat. It was such a wonderful experience and I am so eager to share it with friends and family. If you are staying in Duck, this is the perfect daily excursion, you get to take a boat ride, sip wine at a vineyard, see a beautiful side of the Outer Banks ( perfect for a photo op) and once you dock back after trying your wines you don't have to drive anywhere, you can walk to one of the many restaurants on the board walk that have live music and enjoy the rest of your evening and then take a cab or uber home! I would highly recommend this event for anyone visiting or living on the Outer Banks, it was such a cool perspective of the OBX and showed a different side of the area, really bringing to life that there is more than just the beach. The people were lovely to deal with and you could tell they enjoy what they are doing and loved being able to share it with others. Highly Recommend this for families, friends and anyone looking for a different type of experience on the OBX!
