Owner description: Founded in 1999 by Brothers Charlie and Ed Shelton, Shelton Vineyards was envisioned as a new agricultural resource for an area once dependent on tobacco farming. Located in the heart of North Carolina's Yadkin Valley, Shelton Vineyards is 180 degrees from any winery you will find on the West Coast. The distinctive characteristics of Shelton wine come from the unique soil and climate of the Yadkin Valley. This helps give Shelton wine an inimitable taste that holds its own against any wine from any area in the world. We invite you to visit us, try our wine and see if you agree that our wine is as unique as the area we are in.

A very interesting place to visit and meet with people and have a great time. Everyone should visit at least once, then you will have to go back again and again

Shelton is one of our favorite go to wineries. Everything is drinkable and nicely priced. Great location, beautiful grounds. The on-site restaurant is also really good.

Beautifully landscaped grounds, excellent on site restaurant where reservations are accepted, informative tour of the winery, and a pleasant tasting experience. We were surprised that such a facility even existed in North Carolina. Well worth a couple of hours to fully enjoy and if staying in the area consider the Hampton Inn which is owned by the winery and is about three miles away on Interstate 77.

Tiny bit of a wine snob. I expected to not like the wines but found myself pleasantly surprised at the quality of this winery!

Went for the Harvest Festival. Did a tasting, lunched at the Harvest Grill, where we discovered a very nice red that wasn't available at the tasting. So we bought a couple of bottles and hung out on a blanket for the afternoon with friends. It helped that the weather was gorgeous. The restaurant was also very tasty, if a bit overpriced.
