Owner description: Founded in 1999 by Brothers Charlie and Ed Shelton, Shelton Vineyards was envisioned as a new agricultural resource for an area once dependent on tobacco farming. Located in the heart of North Carolina's Yadkin Valley, Shelton Vineyards is 180 degrees from any winery you will find on the West Coast. The distinctive characteristics of Shelton wine come from the unique soil and climate of the Yadkin Valley. This helps give Shelton wine an inimitable taste that holds its own against any wine from any area in the world. We invite you to visit us, try our wine and see if you agree that our wine is as unique as the area we are in.

We enjoy our visit here - pretty grounds, nice tour. The restaurant was quite good. We want to go back during harvest (Fall) to see the vineyard in operation.

My husband and I stayed at the Hampton Inn down the road and ate here en route to Florida. A lovely surprise. The decor was lovely as was the food and the wine. The service was excellent. I had a wine sampler which the waitress recommended - not the most expensive one - 5 tastings that I chose from a selection - and it was a great value for $10. We asked her about a certain type of wine that appeared on the wine list and she brought over a glass (free) for us to try. We ended up buying 3 bottles of their wine including the one that she gave us to taste (that was $40 - not cheap but excellent). All in all we had a very pleasant evening that does not always occur when we are traveling south for the winter.

The biggest and best vineyard around. A must stop! Try the Harvest Grill they have on-site as well. Gourmet food and excellent, fresh wine.

Sense of refinement with what we Brits call silver service. We enjoyed a tasting tray of our selected eight Sheldon wines with our food. Not over generous with their portions but could not be faulted in regard to quality

Winery tour and tasting is great, cheap, doesn't take too long. Wine and gift shop lots of fun.
