I've visited Long Creek a couple of times trying to determine exactly what other folks like about the place and when I've asked the most common answer I get is they give alot of food for the money. I will say they have the very best tartar sauce of any "fish camp" I've ever visited. However, for the best fish in the area - head down Hwy. 161 to Palmetto Bar and Grill - can't beat it.

Nothing fancy here, just really good fried seafood. We have eaten at Long Creek on several occasions and have always been happy. The portions are more than generous and the prices are fair. The sweet tea is yummy. The atmosphere is totally casual. The service is excellent.

Long Creek specializes in fried seafood. This place is a Dallas landmark, and the crowd will be very thick by 6pm each night they are open. They have excellent tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. You will receive a VERY Large plate of food, so you can probably feel comfortable ordering a "small" size serving plate if you are not a heavy eater.
The salt-pepper catfish is excellent, as is the fried shrimp. They have a plate called, "green shrimp", which is fried shrimp that are very lightly breaded, about the size of popcorn shrimp. The shrimp is piled very high on the plate and you will probably not be able to eat it all.
Their hush-puppies are great and they serve classic sweet iced tea. The servers are very friendly and the prices are low for the amount of food you receive.

Long Creek Fish Fry is located on New Hope Road, about 1 mile S. of Dallas.
