“Great hotel on the beach”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

My family enjoyed a 3 night stay at this hotel. The rooms were surprisingly large (especially for a hotel on the beach). We had a partial ocean view room (as we didn't want to overlook the pools). The free breakfast was decent - hot food (usually eggs/breakfast meat), oatmeal, pastries, waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt. Staff did a good job of keeping everything replenished. Pretty crowded so if you don't like crowds eat early! Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Service was good as well. Location was good - nothing really in walking distance but plenty of places within a short driving distance. Easy access to the beach, outdoor pool, lazy river (you can't really be lazy in it - the river itself is lazy as there is no real current) but the kids loved hanging out in the inner tubes, and an indoor pool. Umbrella/chair/etc rentals on the beach that can be charged to your room. Downside - hotel rooms could use some renovation and deep cleaning (our tub was clogged when we arrived and when staff came to fix it - let's just say it was quite nasty what was pulled out), only one elevator in the hotel (used by guests and staff) so if you're able- use the stairs, lots of bugs (probably inevitable due to balconies in room/location - lots of flies, dragonflies, moths, etc. flying around in the room/lobby/breakfast area). All in all, we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our stay. We look forward to returning in the future.

Hampton Inn 2012 was amazing,as mentioned the staff at this hotel are the very, very ,good at making sure your only worry is to relax, thank you for the awesome job!!!!! The breakfast buffet has grown and with the newly remodeled lobby it was a pleasure to start my day there every day(Double koudous to the breakfast crew, everthing was filled fresh and well maintained) Toasters need to be updated though they were a little slow. The rooms were adiquite but are starting to show their age but most people will find them more then acceptable and they are very clean. (Hampton is redoing them this winter so they will be new for 2013).Pools were awesome and it is one of the best beachfronts in the world.

No doubt I will always go back here as I have never had a bad experiance.

We have stayed at this hotel 3 times now. It is great because it has everything, 2 pools, one of them a lazymriver, a baby pool, it is right on the beach, it has it's own lifeguards, hot breakfast, a gym, lanudry facilitiies, and nice rooms. The hotel staff is very friendly, and the lobby just got remodeled, and it's very chic. The rooms are pricey but you get a lot for the money. The hotel keeps improving, they have umbrellas for rent, and free Internet access. If you don't rent a house in the Outer Banks, this place is a great value. Even the partial view rooms have good view of the ocean. Highly recommend it.

We booked this hotel after we decided do not stay at the hotel we booked in advance in Kill Devil Hills. I read all positive reviews on ‘Tripadvisor.com’ and decided to pay more to stay at Hampton Inn. Originally my budget for a nigh was around 140 $ and that hotel was much more expansive. I signed for Hilton Honors membership and used AAA discount to book a room. I booked a bigger size room, suite, with an Ocean View. It was our first Outer Banks vacation and we really wanted to enjoy it. We noticed that hotel personnel was very friendly from the day of our arrival. We got extra snack/water bag, probably as HH Members. Our room was specious, with King bad and a sleeping sofa, with a balcony and full ocean view. I noticed that room needed to have some face lift, but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast at the hotel some mornings, it was a simple continental breakfast but with a big variety of choices, nothing fancy but enough do not feel hungry till a nice seafood or pizza lunch we always had later. We used indoor pool one day as the weather outside was a little chilly that day. Next day we went to the beach, which was a private access to the beach for hotel guest only. Beach had a lifeguard and rentals for a fee, which was reasonable. The beach was very nice, not crowded, we saw so many sand crabs and very nice birds flying. The area around the hotel was really beautiful, there were no any other hotels/houses nearby, but some nice woods/bushes. We saw birds flying from our hotel room every morning, it was very pleasant and peaceful view. Hotel has outdoor pool, lazy river and a small kids pool. They all were good maintained and pretty clean. We used them, but now a lot. Hotel located in Corolla and we had to drive to visit towns of Corolla and Duck during lunch and evening ours. One afternoon me and my son climbed Corolla lighthouse, I’d recommend to do it at the end of the day to avoid lines. We ate famous bagels at ‘Lighthouse Bagels and Deli’ and there were very good. I can recommend Steamer's Shellfish To Go for crabcake sandwich or other fresh local seafood. Even with not so happy first day of our OBX vacation and hotel change, we really had a great time and will return to Corolla and possible to the Hampton Inn.

Room Tip: Use AAA discount and sign to be a Hilton Honors member; oceanfront rooms the best

Have been to this HISuites before and it was really nice. This time at check in, the front desk gentleman, Bob , made the day! He was friendly, greeted us with a smile and light conversation. Let me just say, customer service is the #1 service we look for! We knew instantly that Bob was a seasoned employee that knew his job. He is a keeper!
We enjoyed the pool as well as the beach. It's a great property for a great vacation. It was clean, has a nice variety of breakfast foods and Bob! Hope to return again!

Room Tip: First floor south, easy access to beach and pool area.

We booked a oceanfront suite in Corolla. The room was very large and for a room at the beach it was very clean. The view from the balcony was outstanding. This hotel had two outdoor pools one of which is shaped like a lazy river. The location of this hotel is great. Very close to Duck and Corolla. Had a free warm breakfast every morning. The beach is nice and not to crowded. If you wanted to be completely by yourself you could just walk 100 yards left or right. had a lifeguard on the beach although they are not always there. I normally rent a house in Corolla and was apprehensive about staying at a hotel but i would definitely say here again.

We stayed here for the weekend. We arrived on a sat morning at 10 am. We requested early check in and they acted like that would be no problem and they told us that rooms were already being cleaned. Well we hit the beach for a few hours then wanting to shower and escape the 100 plus degree heat we called about 2 and room still wasn't ready. Room was ready at 4 kind of a bummer. Room was clean but nothing special. They put us on the 1 st floor and got an early morning wake up from whoever was staying above us. We did not get in the pool. The restaurant next to the hotel was not recommend so we drove to eat. Beach was nice.
