We visited with family for a get away weekend with the grandkids. We had previously been to GWL Williamsburg so we knew what we were getting into as far as cost goes. The rooms were wonderful - Majestic Bear Suite and Kids Cabin. Everything was very clean and comfortable. We had a great time at the waterpark although I was looking forward to the hot tub like the GWL in Williamsburg - unfortunately the layout was different so no hot tub. We had a mix of kiddos from Teens through Toddlers and they all had a great time enjoying the pajama party / arcade / bowling and water park. The breakfast buffet was quite good with a good hot/cold buffet selection and a great omlet bar. Unless your family enjoys existing on pizza hut I would avoid the dining room for lunches/dinners. The service was slow and the food was not that great for the cost. While service in the dining room was on the slow side the staff everywhere were very friendly and happy to assist with any need. There is a plethora of restaurants and a mall nearby with lots of other options. We also ordered in Pizza one night for the kids. Overall, Very Enoyable.

This is our fourth GWL that we have been to in the chain - Sandusky, Niagara and Traverse City being the other three. Our family loves being Great Wolfers. We look forward to it every year and actually look for ways of including a GWL stay as a part of any US vacation we book. Since we were driving to Myrtle this year over March Break - GWL Concord was a no brainer. Upon check-in we were greeted warmly and instantly upgraded to one of the best suites in the Lodge. Tom, the on duty manager actually came out to greet us personally. Nice touch. Every lodge has its own features - Tom told us that this one is the newest in the chain. Neat additions and features - Ten Paw Bowling... Great hit with our youngest and the spaciousness of the whole place - other lodges feel very cramped and once you get a crowd in there it can be really challenging. The waterpark and restaurant especially seemed roomier than other lodges that we have been too. Only downside - no hot tub... I was actually looking forward to that and they didn't have one (they must have their reasons.)
Look forward to returning on future trips to Myrtle Beach... And of course look forward to checking out another lodge in the future. Howl!

Ok, so kids love it but why the ritz carlton price tag? Even if you figure in waterpark admission for 4 kids, 2 adults is $180 ($30 each?) that still leaves a hefty room price of $3i50 to justify. I can spend a night in a Ritz Carlton in a major city with excellent beds, linens, bathrooms and service for less than that. I promised my son we'd do this for his tenth birthday, since we did it for our older son when he turned 10 - but thankfully, this is the last time I'll have to fork out this kind of money for an average room, average service hotel - waterpark or not.

Unless your kids are some kind of waterpark fanatics - think about putting that kind of $ towards a beachfront room at the Marriott in Myrtle or Hilton Head...far better family experience relative to the price.

Room Tip: Kids like those bunk dens.

We stayed here last weeked for the 2nd time and really had a great time. It was an "off-peak" day, which made the lines, etc. much shorter than the last time. We all had a blast at the water park and our daughter enjoyed magi-quest (our 4yo was a bit too young for that still). The restaurant buffet was decent, although I would probably try something off the menu next time. There are a lot of add-ons that are offerred and I'm glad we declined... they aren't much of a deal unless you planned on getting everything on them already (like the stuffed animal, etc.). We'd definitely stay here again.

The kids had a lot of fun with Magic Quest and the water park. We had 3 11 year olds, and one 12 year old. I just can't get over how much they charge per room. I know it's because it includes the waterpark, but it still seems really high. The rooms are very average. We got the kids kamp room, and it was roomy enough, without much extra. The bathroom is tiny, and the toilet made lots of noise for a while after someone flushed it.

The water park was a pretty good temperature. It was extremely loud (even the equipment makes noise). The wave pool shut off the waves for quite a while. But the slides were fun. If you're into that kind of thing. (: We went out to eat, so we wouldn't have to do the overpriced restaurant (the food is not very good). All in all, the kids really liked it. Not much for the adults. Would be nice if they at least had a hot tub for us.

Room Tip: Do NOT get one on the third floor if you're looking for quiet. The main magic quest areas are t...

We traveled with our family of 4 over the President's Day holiday. We also had another family of 3 join us. We were thoroughly impressed with the facility and rooms. The lobby area is nice and has things for kids to do and the staff/lifeguards were very attentive. Maybe a little over-priced, but what do you expect with a water park of this magnitude inside the hotel. Would definitely recommend and we'll be back.

Our family of 6 enjoyed a weekend filled with fun at GWL. This place has everything that you may need under one roof. The kids really liked the idea of swimming in 85 degree temps the same day we saw snowflakes falling outside. Story time each night in the main lobby was a nice touch. Magi Quest was a blast, if you like running around the whole hotel, lol. Arcade was most fun for our aunt with down syndrome. We ate breakfast at the on site Duncan Donuts, lunch at on site Pizza Hut, the dinner buffet at the Loose Moose Cafe. All the staff were very helpful and nice, the pirate at the wand store was my personal favorite, he stayed in character and made our stay magical. I give it a 10+ on cleanliness, only down fall might be not enough available seating at the waterpark. I must add, and emphasize that the lifeguards were really attentive and watched all the kids closely. I felt very safe with our 3 little ones playing in the water. There were always at least 3 lifeguards at each pool / slide and it was very obvious they were scanning the pools constantly. This place is a bit pricey, but totally worth the experience. Bring your pocket books! Of course, if you are looking for rest and relaxation this place isn't for you- we were going non stop from the moment we walked in. They do have an on site spa, I'm sure it would have been just as nice as everything else (& good on these old bones,) but I didn't get the chance to enjoy that part of the GWL experience. Maybe my husband and I will sneak away one weekend to try it out :)

P.S. A mini fridge and microwave are in each room, if you want to save a little and bring your own food / snacks.

Room Tip: We booked a family suite, nothing fancy. Sleeps 6, best value. They offer basic rooms as well as spe...
