Description: From the time he started making pasta with his Nona as a small child, Joe Laudisio was entranced with the delicious, fresh food made by his large Italian family in Buffalo, NY. Today, he brings his memories and his vision for authentic, regional Italian cuisine to this beautiful little restaurant tucked away in the foothills of North Carolina. Joe & Mary strive to use fresh organic produce and pastured meats from local farms. They also watch over and help plan the prolific gardens right outside the restaurant doors. From ordering heirloom Italian seeds right from Italy, to guiding the menus that feature the seasonal bounty, much attention is paid to authenticity and to fresh quality. This is not just the new trend in green living, this is the authentic old world process of living and breathing local and seasonal foods that has permeated Italian life for generations.

“Farm to Table - Excellent Food - will go back again”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

Seating for dinner is apparently in two shifts thus 2 different times... so if you have the second shift, you wait. Service wasn't really fast but it was attentive. They actually grow the vegetables right there on the farm so everything is fresh.
Food was excellent. We enjoyed everything we ordered and will go back next time we are in the Lake Lure area.

“Better with a group”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

This is a quaint, attractive restaurant and one of the few Italian restaurants in the area. This was our first visit. Food was OK, but not great. Service was slow. Too slow, as we were hungry. Good value for the money and I would go back, but with additional couples, as the restaurant is very quiet and relaxing, and the service allows a lot of time for conversation.

“Nice find while at Lake Lure”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013

We had a late lunch here while staying at Lake Lure. Sat on outside patio which was really nice. I had the drunken fig salad with grilled chicken which was very good. My husband had the meatball sandwich which came with a cup of pasta fasgiole soup. The meatballs were very tasty and the soup was excellent. We decide to oreder two woodfire pizzas to g and broughht them back for a late night snack and they were excellent. Would highly recommend taking the ride here if you are staying at Lake Lure.

“Fine Italian Food and lovely country surroundings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

Very authentic food from a family owned eatery. We all had tasty entrees, and the starters and desserts were divine.
Lamb chops over mushroom risotto, yummy!!
Cannoli for dessert. We'd all go again!
