Description: Start the day off right with one of our signature biscuits, which are named after the places folks love to visit in the region. Whether you want a Bearwallow Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit or a savory Florence Preserve Biscuits, we have something for you every Saturday and Sunday. During lunch, enjoy a local grassfed burger, grilled sandwiches, salads and fresh baked fruit cobblers at this down-to-earth diner located at the entrance to Chimney Rock State Park. Relax outdoors on the riverside deck with a great view of Chimney Rock and the Rocky Broad River rushing by. Try one of the local craft brews or sip on a glass of wine. Check out the memorabilia of the "Rock" covering the walls for a glimpse of what life was like here over the past 100 years.

We love the Old Rock Café! The view from their outdoor seating is hard to beat. Add delicious food and you've got a winning combination! Our family loves their grilled hotdogs and potato salad. Now, I'm not a big fan of potato salad, but theirs is unbelievably good! I've tried to make it at home, but just can't pull it off. It's so good, I actually look forward to our little day trips to the Rock just for this menu item! Once you taste it, you crave it, so consider yourself warned! Just to add icing to the cake, the service is second to none. You're never rushed and even first time visitors are treated like the most important customer ever.

A great place for a lunch sandwich with a view of Chimney Rock State Park. Run by the State Park, it's a welcome stop. Hope to get back soon for their live music.

The food was good, prepared well.
Sit outside, away from the hot covered deck.
Walk down to the river for pix.
Pricey for what it is.

The outdoor seating was nice and clean. We both order hamburgers and they were a bit overdone. Great sweet tea.

Dear Vickie C,
Thanks for your recent visit. Yes, we can't get enough of that sweet tea! I'll let the chef know about your burgers to make sure they're not overcooking them for our other customers. Glad you enjoyed the outdoor seating near the river. Come see us again sometime!

This little place is right along the river, just outside the park. The food was good and the portions were ample. You seat yourself, order at the counter and the staff gives you a number and brings your food to you. Good system. It was not busy the day we went there, but I'm sure it can get real crowded. They have an outside covered eating area that is right next to the river. You can walk off those calories on a great little path that follows the river and comes out on the other end of town and then stop at all the shops on the way back through!
