The food was awesome but the chef was more awesome. He is the most well spoken young man ever! We saw him on UNC TV. He cans a lot of the fresh local organic food in the restaurant. When they asked him why canned his comment was "to catch summer in a jar." We booked our trip that day to go meet him. He makes homemade marshmallows, and he brought one to our table. Along with a blow torch and torched the marshmallow at our table. He then served that with a slice of cantaloupe topped with bacon. I have never had anything SO GOOD!

Beautiful setting tucked against the mountain. Beautiful room, delicious food and very gracious owners. Worth your trip for a secluded get-away!

“Nice change of Pace in Chimney Rock”
Reviewed September 9, 2012 via mobile

Ate an excellent dinner last night at a restaurant that stands alone in Chimney Rock's typical mom and pop diners.. Exciting Asian influenced southern cooking. Both my wife and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. We'll be back

“Top notch food in a spectacular setting”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

Chef is a young genius, uses fresh herbs and greens straight gardens on the hotel grounds. Bold mix of local southern cuisine (fried green tomatoes not to be missed) and high quality dishes like seared tuna salad that rivaled anything I've had anywhere. Every dish I tried was a homerun. Breakfasts for business meetings included fresh yougurt served straigt up in Mason Jars (love it) and homemade pastry that is quickly addicting. Fresh fruit abounds. Bring your own wine/ beer. Waiters and waitresses were outstanding as well. Rustic setting, but sophisticated cuisine and high quality service - unbeatable combo.

“Wow! Excellent dining in the mountians”
Reviewed August 23, 2012

What a delicous experience! The food was excellent, the setting superb and the service did not disappoint. There are even vegetarian entrees available. When (not if...!) you go, be aware you must brown bag because of the local laws. This is the one restaurant in the area you should not miss.
