Ate the breakfast buffet both mornings we were here as it was included. Had good breakfast buffet. Went on Friday night and ate the prime rib and seafood buffet. It was good. It was better when it was a holiday inn but was still good. Could be a little cheaper for dinner but would eat it again. The stuffed salmon was great.

We received no service after seating ourselfs and after some minutes and looking at the food on the nearby tables,we simply left unnoticed. Do not waste your time as we did.

We did not picnic here, but we hiked. This location is out of the way but a great stop after white water rafting on the Pigeon River. We hiked to Sutton Ridge Overlook the first time we stopped here. The trails cross the river several times and that part was very fun. The view at the Overlook was great and we stopped and soaked in the river on the way down. The trail was only a couple of miles long with 3/4 mile along the river so it seemed shorter. The second time we hiked the Lower Gap trail to the Appalacia Trail. This was a 6 mile round trip hike. The lower portion was along the river again so was very enjoyable. But most of the hike was not by the river. My daughter (14) almost gave up. We traveled 3 miles and went up 2000 feet. It took us and hour and 1/2 just to get up there. But we made it and it was a fun hike down. There was not much of a view from the top. Maybe if you hiked along the Appalacia Trail there would be. But we did not we hiked down and stopped at a spot where the trail comes close to the rivier. Its very open so you wont miss it. There are some very large boulders and a calm pool of water to soak in. It was refreshing and then we continued our hike down. The difference in the atmosphere from the bottom of this trail to the top is extreme. It was very damp and humid at the bottom and you could feel the climate change as the elevation rose. We hiked this trail around 2:00 pm and we only saw two other groups along the entire trail. Cosby area is very relaxing and non populated. We liked that a lot.

Friday and Saturday night is Prime Rib buffet. The food is abundent and great! The wait staff are friendly and very attentive! Definately worth the price. The week day meals are limited and not quite as good. We go every time we are there for the weekend but not during the week anymore!
