Toured historic restored farm. Very informative. Attended a ranger-led session about the elk herd. Ranger was well informed and had many hands-on materials(i.e. antlers, hide, collar etc.). The gift shop isn't as large as the Sugarlands but it is adequate. This visitor's center is worth a visit. Definitely, be sure to visit in the early morning or in the evening so that you can view the magnificent elk!!

We stopped here during our trip through the Cumberland Gap, very nice place from the outside, very nice place on the inside. Has a history place to learn about the area and there is also a museum of sorts that consist of a bunch of old buildings that settlers used back in the day. Great place for kids and families!

There is also a stream that runs along side of the facility that is a great photo opportunity place, and there is a gift shop inside that you can get common knick knacks.

We enjoyed learning about the culture... recommend if you want a down time stroll and to take in some of the history around the land. Kids asked questions and was able to share the past with them. Would highly recommend
