We stopped here during our trip through the Cumberland Gap, very nice place from the outside, very nice place on the inside. Has a history place to learn about the area and there is also a museum of sorts that consist of a bunch of old buildings that settlers used back in the day. Great place for kids and families!

There is also a stream that runs along side of the facility that is a great photo opportunity place, and there is a gift shop inside that you can get common knick knacks.

We enjoyed learning about the culture... recommend if you want a down time stroll and to take in some of the history around the land. Kids asked questions and was able to share the past with them. Would highly recommend

The short river trail is very nice and comfortable hike. The museum of old living is pleasant. The staff at the Visitor are friendly and helpful.

There is a great museum in this visitor's center, along with the standards you'll find in the Sugarlands Visitor's Center (maps, guides, souvenirs, books, etc.). Clean restroom facilities, too...right outside is the Mountain Farm Museum, which is a must-see. After wandering through empty cabins and corn-cribs all through the park, it was so nice to see a furnished cabin and blacksmith's shop, a barn with all of the implements in it, real hogs in the pen, chickens running around, and actual gardens tended to by volunteers using the same methods the pioneers did. There is a guide you can buy for $1 in the visitor's center that provides lots more information, or the volunteers are happy to answer any questions.

This new visitors' center is well worth stopping for. Lots of information and educational displays-and ,if you are lucky as we were yesterday, free bluegrass music on the porch. You could almost feel like you were stepping back in time.
