I looked at many hotels in the area and was torn between the Days Inn across the street from Harrah's and something with a view further down the road.
This was a last minute trip and the other members of our group were staying that the casino. With Harrah's being $250 during the fourth of July week, it was VERY much out of our price range.
We decided that the location was more important so we could spend time with our group at the casino and not have to worry about driving after a fun night.
My expectations were very low. External access to the room usually screams "ROACH MOTEL" to me but the pictures were nice and I took the risk.
I was floored walking into the lobby for check in. It was so nice! I paid through Hotels.com (I would book through Travelocity but I get a 10% discount because I'm a Delta Air Lines employee there) and I was expecting to put up a credit card at the desk because I have been asked that at every hotel we've ever stayed at. They didn't ask for deposits or credit cards .. they just handed me keys.
The room was NICE! The only complaint we had was that one bed (room 123 the bed closest to the window) squeaked like crazy. The mattresses could be better quality but I was surprised how well they slept other than the annoying squeak. The sheets weren't the best, but they were clean ... I even removed all of the sheeting to check for bugs ... not a single thing was out of place.
Free coffee in the room was a surprise and much needed after a night at the casino!
The decor was comforting too!
The BEST PART WAS THE FREE BREAKFAST!!!
Not just cereal ... but also waffles, omelets, toast, yogurt, juice, coffee, and more! It's only served until 10am so us late risers might miss out on some of it.
Plus, check out was a breeze, I just handed her the keys and we hit the road!
I would recommend this hotel.
It is important to note that Travelocity makes it seem that other hotels nearby on that road are a little walk from Harrahs ... but actually, Harrah's is a REALLY BIG HOTEL and covers most of that block ... so pretty much all the hotels are directly across from the casino. Just a little added info. Hope it helps.
