If you travel Hwy 441 through Cherokee on the Cherokee to Gatlinburg route, you can safely pull into Newfound Lodge Restaurant. This restaurant has a previousl life as a Big Boy restaurant and essentially serves the same type buffet. It serves southern comfort food and some Cherokee favorites as well thrown in. If you were raised on traditional southern food, you should have no problem picking out fried chicken, pork chops or bbq. Vegetables tend to be carrots and peas, mashed potatoes, fried okra and more. The salad bar contained enough choices for a vegatarian lunch companion to be satisfied. Total price for the buffet and a tea is about $12, not cheap, but at least it is good. Salad bar alone is much less. A lot of local people eat here which is a good sign of quality. If you need a meal near the Museum of the Cherokee Indian, Qualla Arts and Crafts or the night time drama "Unto these Hills," this is probably your best bet.

Good selection on buffet of home-style cooking AND lean protein, fresh fruits and veggies for those that don't care for all the heavy carbs, Wait staff was great in clearing used plates and keeping buffet area clean.. which is always a pet peeve with me.

We had gone to Cherokee for the day, and was looking for somewhere to eat. Stopped here. The hostess was very friendly, and found us a lovely table in the sun. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Our glasses never got empty. The sweet tea was good and refreshing. The food was very delicious, tasteful, and worth the price. The price is very affordable and you get enough to fill you. My parents loved the sweet potato fries and I really enjoyed the cole slaw. The restaurant was super clean and very light and airy. All in all, a most delightful experience.

we dined here for a quick evening dinner, the buffet was not great but not bad. The selections were limited. The fresh strawberries and melon were good, the pinto beans were really good and seasoned. The salad bar was average. The baked potato soup was good. Nice place for the money. The waitress/server was very friendly, you glass never got empty.

I don't usually frequent buffets, but Cherokee does not have a huge selection of restaurants, so we decided to try this one for breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised: It was $7.99 for an adult buffet breakfast ($4.99 for kids under 10), and the food was pretty good. The bacon was crisp and biscuits tasted fresh. Our waitress was very attentive to our very large group. I didn't notice any cleaning issues mentioned by previous reviewers, although the windows up front looked like the frames had sustained some water damage. Not sure I'd pay the $12.99 for dinner, but I thought it was well worth the trip for breakfast!
