What a great place to go for a picnic lunch or quiet walk -- just outside the main Cherokee tourist area. We got KFC across the street and found a shaded picnic table not far from the parking and enjoyed a nice lunch. If we had more time, the kids would have enjoyed wading in the creek. It seemed like a get-away even though not far from the busier areas.

An excellent bamboo forest is on the island. It was unlike anything I've ever seen. Great photo op. Kids can play in the river and there is good parking and alot of picnic areas. Lots of shade and ducks. Even trout fishing. Very close to Cherokee in town. Best of all, it's free.

This has long been one of my favorite places in Cherokee. There's cool bridges, great places to play in the water, and my favorite, the bamboo forest to explore! It's a great place to people watch, too, because there's usually something cool going on. Take the time to check it out, but watch out for spiders.

We spent a short time just wading thru the creek. It was very relaxing and peaceful. While there was quite a crowd on the weekend, we basically had the place to our selves on a weekday afternoon. I definitely recommend this park for couples with young kids as the creek is mostly shallow.

Loved the bamboo forest. Very well maintained. Nice picnic areas and parking is convenient. My kids loved wading through the stream and skipping rocks.
