You think you are driving to no where...but Blue Ridge mountains are beautiful...book this property way ahead...need to be member of Harrahs club to get in..I was told..Huge buffet...not cheap but not one thing was bad...golf, rafting..Cherokee area to explore local indian land and history..casino bigger than MGM in vegas..great service..can't say enough about it..town is quaint and good for shopping day..breakfast in coffee shop near rooms is great too..buffet for breakfast is top notch...staff knows their jobs...check in staff were the only ones with a little attitude...but you only have to deal with them once...

If you go to win then you just as soon stay home. If you go to have fun with no expectations then this is place. My husband who does not like to gamble went with me for a little while and we had a ball.. My daughter went with me that night and we too had a great time. Did we win??? NO. Did we enjoy?? Yes.

The casino has been Cherokee for almost 2 decades but a few years ago there was a huge addition/remodeling project that completely updated and greatly expanded the facilities. The renovations were completed last year. The associated hotel to the casino now has three Towers - Soco, Mountain and Creek. The rooms are all huge and the only significant difference I've found is that the standard Creek Tower room does not come with a bath, only a large walk-in shower. Sign up for a free Total Rewards card and your casino play can accumulate to give you a discounted/free hotel room or discounts at the casino restaurants. In addition to a food court with a half dozen "fast food" venues, there are four on-site restaurants. They range from Ruth"s Chris to Italian (Brio) to Chef's Stage (the most enormous buffet I've ever seen) to Selu Garden (Paula Deen's is gone). Even if you don't gamble, the casino is well worth a visit.

We were in the area and figured what the heck. Not much of a gambler (been 15 years since in a casino) and it was a maze to keep you in, lol. Directions were minimal, staff was minimal. We did visit on a weekday and l am sure most of the extra staff was off. I knew they allowed alcohol but they also allow smoking indoors which l found very odd in this day and age but they want you dipping in your pocket for your $ card and not going outside to smoke!

Staff was friendly, smiling, and welcoming. That's where the enjoyment stopped. The atmosphere just isn't as festive/fun/vibrant as big city casinos. Tables were mostly full. Two and a half hour wait for a table in the poker room. When the told me how long, I thought it was a joke - Signed up, got a buzzer, over two hours later I gave up. The roulette tables were all full and on a wait. The craps tables were all full and on a wait. The only open tables were blackjack, baccarat, and three-card poker.

Had a good time playing blackjack but a TWO AND A HALF HOUR WAIT FOR A SEAT for live poker? pathetic! Unacceptable.
