Despite the rain the cherokee were warm and inviting and even willing to go the extra mile and stand in the rain to share themselves with us. We appreciate them so much and hope to return soon!

I was very glad to see so many people still learning and teaching others the true Cherokee culture. It was well worth the small fee. The guides and dancers are great.

Drove my family of 5 through what seemed like endless winding and mountain roads to get to this place, and decided to go for it. After paying the $75 admission, we were encouraged to watch the "dance show". That experience was observing about 8-10 Indian looking individuals (in various degrees of authentic dress) doing about 3 different dances, laughing at themselves, just going through the motions. Final dance was a cheesy get-all-the-tourists-to-hold-hands-in-a-circle and do the congo line. The entire "show" lasted 20 minutes tops, including all the cheesy dialogue from the dance leader.

We skipped the guided tour because we were short on time, but decided to walk through "the village". It was made up of about 4 or 5 structures. The "performers", when done with their "show", each simply walked over to a structure, sat down, and pretended to be acting naturally in their native habitat. They were not very outgoing, did not proactively state what they were doing, nothing. Only information gained was by reading the signs. The kids were bored.

We kept walking and were then at the exit. It was really quite cheesy if you ask me. No wonder there were greeters in the parking lot, felt as if they were trying to suck us in. Unfortunately, we took the bait. Save your money, find something else more authentic and informative!!

I have been to Cherokee many times and never gone to the Indian Village. I was so suprised how good it was. First they take you through different crafts that the Indians would have used everyday. They have people doing the crafts and you can ask questions. There are several houses from different time periods to go in. Then there were about 5 reenactments for you to watch.

It's very nice learning how things were done in those days and you forget how important life is in the world we live in today. I loved it. The dances that they did were very entertaining!
