There are lots of waterfalls in the Smoky Mountains area. I was looking for a waterfall which was relatively easier to reach, since I was going with my parents (seniors) and little kids. This worked out well.
It was a short 10-15 minutes drive from Cherokee downtown. There are quite a few well maintained steps to climb, probably more than a hundred. My parents took frequent breaks and were fine. After the steps is a short trail, which was kind of slushy / slippery / muddy, because it had rained. Got to be a little cautious here.
The waterfall itself was bigger than I thought and quite impressive and surrounded by trees. So it is not a big open area to view the falls. There is a small but well-built deck and people were going under/around it to play in the flowing water and to take better pictures.
All in all, a great spot for a quick visit.
