If you have ever been to a best western plus and then you stay here you will agree.. this is a three story knights inn. Clean- parking wasn't horrible, Didn't say for breakfast though- I am being told that my review inst long enough but i have not other good words for this place. They have cribs available but we didn't use them. Hopefully this is enough characters.

Attentive staff. Clean. Courteous. Airport shuttle. I am partial to BW for Business travel, because they meet your needs without breaking your budget. That always looks good to the boss. I hadn't stayed at this location before, but I'll certainly be there the next time I'm overnight in Charlotte. It's pretty close to the metro, but ideal for the airport.

Stayed in this hotel for a conference this June. One of the nice things about this hotel is location. The Blue Line LYNX train station is very accessible and it will take you to Uptown or all the way to I-485. The hotel is very basic but maintains very good cleanliness and friendly service. If you are looking for an inexpensive hotel with free airport shuttle, free breakfast, and close to Uptown and Southend, consider this hotel.

Room Tip: Request for a quiet room away.

Check in & out was no problem. Room # 101. Large bedroom area, King bed. Furnishings are two drawer chest/cabinet with micro/fridge & flat screen television. Tv has 49 channels, however some channels listed have no signal, one being the Weather Channel. The tv's guide is located inside the door key's booklet.

A writing desk, with lamp. A swivel leather covered rocking chair. King bed very firm, with two night stands. Two separate chairs with small desk/stand between them.

Bathroom has shower/tub combo, with angled safely bar on side wall. Water for shower in five seconds. Water pressure very strong out of faucet, but very gentle through the shower head. Shower head very large, with two positioning adjustments. Plenty of towels, bath towel large, however on the scratchy side. A wall to wall sink counter. Large mirror with three lights.Coffee maker & hair dryer.

Carpet is so thick that the room's door will be held open while moving in & out. My room has been designated as non-smoking. NO smoke smell.A no door closet. Iron & board. Metal rack with shelf & eight wooden hangers.

Breakfast is 5:30 to 10:00. This includes 3 dry cereals, fresh apples & bananas, yogurt., Grape, orange & apple juice & coffee. Bagels, bread for toast and pastries. One woman was constantly restocking items. A flat screen television with one local channel.

THe parking lot is good size. From an aerial view, I could count 90 spaces, with four handicapped spots. Some spaces have shade. Two sets of front automatic sliding doors allow for easy entrance, with four luggage racks. The racks are very helpful when having two large heavy suitcases.

Nearby restaurants (across very heavy traffic) Woodlawn Road are Carolina Prime Stark House (a 10 % discount if showing your B.W. room card), Tryon House (a family restaurant), McKoy's Smoke House & Saloon (a BBQ). To the west (same side as B.W.) is the Azteca Maxican Restaurant.

The only problem I encounted was a 'SWEAT' smell the second night. After I reported the problem, the facility's supertendent called me by phone and stated probably the A/C probably was the problem. Once the A/C was cleaned & vacuumed, the smell was less, but not totally gone. Only when the a/c was operating did notice the smell. Probably all rooms could have this problem when a heavy downpour happens, which it did while my stay. The only other negative was two wooden luggage racks, with one close to, collapse. I stayed in four Best Westerns during Mayu, with this B.W. having only wooden racks, not metal racks.

Off the lobby is a lounge near the breakfast area, with two guest computers.

The one major drawback of staying at this facility is the traffic on Woodlawn Road, very fast and the fact that B.W.'s entrance to the parking lot is NOT off Woodlawn. The street to B.W.'s lot is off CHastain Ave. If a guest is headed east, turn onto Chastainh a quick turn inti B.W. However if a guest is headed west and the time of day, they may have to drive west for a ditance to an intersection or make a U-turn on Woodlawn. I drive west for 1 1/2 miles before making a U-turn.

The a/c problem & luggage racks would not prevent me ftom again. Factor's being the firm comfortable bed, price. location to I-77-less than one mile-, NASCAR Hall of Fame, nearby restaurants, room's overall cleanliness & quite neighborhood. A;ll staff members were friendly, polite & helpful.

Jack L., Syracuse, New York.
