Nice location. Very helpful staff but when will Marriott figure sports bars(champion) are obsolete ?? This Marriott even has a cigar bar (yuck). Nowhere elegant and quiet for normal folks
We asked for extra towels and coffee in our record and they weren't there
The staff is nice. The location fine but definitely not suited for my need of a quiet lounge for wine. Too bad. We won't be back. Lots of other fine hotels to choose from.

The Marriott City Center in Charlotte is in a great location - close to dining, activities and business - and is a full service hotel. Stayed here a few times - beds are comfortable, hotel is clean, service is good. Epicenter with a cool dining movie experience at SMG is a short walk. Enjoyed Irish pubs Ri Ra's and Fitzgerald's while there for the one night. All and all, a good place to stay.

Checked in to the Marriott City Center Charlotte and was warmly greated at reception. There was no line for checkin, plenty of smiling staff on hand to help. I was thanked for being a marriott elite member and my room keys were ready to go. A nice touch in the wallet was my reward balance and member date. The rooms at the hotel are very clean and well appointed. They look as if they were renovated recently but they have not being for some time. The hotel really has done well maintaining them. The beds are so comfy you will get a great nights sleep here. Parking is self contained in the lower levels of the hotel and costs $16 dollars overnight as a self parker. Note the spaces are very tight, but this is no different to any downtown hotel. Overall and excellent stay, nothing was too much trouble, the staff are friendly and helpful and the location of the hotel is perfect for accessing downtown bars and restaurants. Keep it up Marriott City Centre. The only downside of the stay was the rate, but every hotel in the city was busy the night i stayed.

Room Tip: Take a high floor, the conceirge lounge was very good and well stock so take a room on this floor if...

This business hotel boosts terrific service. Employees all exemplify a "can do" attitude and are friendly and helpful. The uptown location is close to 5Church (farm to table restaurant and bar) and many other restaurants. It was almost a mile to the Charlotte Convention center. The walk was far enough to prevent running up to the room quickly between sessions and the Westin is recommended if you are tight on time for sessions. The hotel had a great store attached to it with fresh fruit, Naked smoothies, bottled waters, etc...which was handy. Would have appreciated having water available all day long - the coffee in the morning and water in afternoon was a nice touch. I found the bed to be comfortable and the room to be fine, but the thing that ruined my experience and will likely lead me to stay at the Ritz or Westin my next time in Charlotte is the noise. There was a bachelorette party on my floor which went until after 2am - shouting and yelling down the hall. When that finally ended I heard drunk male voices outside my room around 3:30. When I finally fell asleep I was awoken by music - turned out it was the March of Dimes walk - and the festivities started around 6am apparently. I have been a brand loyal customer to Marriott for 20 years, but I am concerned that Marriott has lost some ground. Clearly the staff have excellent attitudes and seek to please, but this hotel has become a party hotel or at least tolerates noise. Paying $200-300/night should allow for a quality night's sleep.

When one travels to a city never before visited, one is concerned. However, don't worry over Charlotte.

This jewell is just that. The streets are clean. The homeless are gone. The eateries are plentiful. The walking at night is safe. (The police are present but friendly.) Overall, this is a nice place to visit and this hotel is the best of the best.

David Gallico, Rooms Operations Manager at the Marriott was very helpful before we arrived. He arranged the room we needed and put me in contact with Beth Mills, the Concierge. Beth found the tour guide and actually visited the visitor's office to get brochures for us.The city tour was informative.

The two of them made sure we were allowed access to the concierge lounge for the duration of our stay and waived the upcharge!

Stay here and leave with a warm feeling!

Room Tip: Ask for Concierge Lounge level. Self parking is $16. per day.

We've stayed here several times over the years under different circumstances and I've always had pleasant experiences. The staff is attentive and overall very nice. The rooms are always clean and housekeeping is very responsive when called. There were four women in one room on this trip and they weathered our tons of requests for extra towels like champs! There's Starbucks in the lobby for the coffee addicts. The food in the restaurant was great as always...we ate at the breakfast buffet on two occasions, I LOVED the omelette station attendant. The location is near to the attractions, it was very convenient to Epicentre which is where we spent a good amount of time. We will definitely return.
