The is a very pleasant location on the water so when you have a moment you can go visit with ducks, geese etc. We hotel had sandwiches that they served for our event that you could purchase as well as snacks. The hotel restaurant has delicious food and nearby are many restaurants that you can walk to in a couple minutes.

Great hotel for the price. The location was excellent! There are plenty of places to eat and you can stroll the boardwalk place and paddle boat. The view from the executive section of the 9th floor overlooked the water. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

My stay at the Hilton, University Place Charlotte, NC was most relaxing. The Boardwalk view was beautiful! Service, value, sleep quality, and cleanliness surpasses my last stay at another hotel nearby. I will have repetitive trips to Charlotte. The Hilton, University Place will be my home away from home.

Back for a third stay here at this hotel. They've done some renovations.

I have one complaint and I'll file it right away - no more mini-fridges in the rooms. VERY inconvenient in that aspect. No microwave either. So forget about bringing food back with you for later - as it's not going to happen. That was a bummer, as we bought waters, etc. and had to keep everything in a cooler and continually change the ice out. On to the postives...

Clean room. Well kept. Great housekeeping staff. Spacious - and all the rooms have great views, as we had friends on the other side of the hotel and saw their views as well. The front desk staff was polite and very helpful in suggesting local attractions and restaurants. Parking was also a breeze, even with an event going on at the hotel. Hallways, lobby, etc. - all upkept as well. As was the pool area. This is a great hotel to stay at (other than the fridge thing!).

The beds here are super comfortable. Every aspect about them makes for a perfect sleep. Mattress quality, pillow quality, comforter, etc. - and the fact that they have great shades that keep the light completely out of the room is A+ as well.

Right downstairs, you are a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel to a multitude of great restaurants and shops - including an awesome yogurt place, a VERY good Chinese restaurant and a small [but delicious] Mexican restaurant. The front desk has a map of the boardwalk that is behind the hotel if you ask. It lists all the places available to eat at.

Around the hotel's immediate area (within 2-5 minute drive) you'll find a 24 hour Walgreens, Bojangles restaurant, Red Robin, Wal-Mart, Wells Fargo, Hardees, Michael's Arts and Crafts, Taco Bell, and some interesting shops - like a secondhand book and music store that had a neat selection and a coffee shop inside.

The hotel is in a nice area - and is well lit. This is someplace you can feel comfortable at.
