March 14, 2015 room 305. Window broken air/noise coming in, therefore traffic unbearably loud. Blood stained mattress. Forgot jacket called twice said would mail, still don't have Apr 7. Never again.Back steps had burned cans that looked like they had been used as drug paraphenalia.Booked through Priceline, doesn't anyone ever check out these places. Was supposed to be 2 stars, I find it hard to believe it should be 1.

Yes this location is inexpensive, yes many construction workers stay there..it is Not the 4 star rating given by hotels.com
If you are a female traveling alone Do Not Stay in this Location!! It is not quiet, noise from the 5 lane interstate can be heard in every room. Beds all need to be replaced. More than one room being occupied by our group of ladies had windows with extremely large cracks in the single pane glass.
Other hotel guests were smoking in their room during the late evening hours, when reported to the front desk the manager on duty did come up to the floor with a can of air freshener and spayed a healthy dose, however nothing else was done to ensure the safety of the rest of us in the hotel.
While the housekeeping staff does go above and beyond to keep this outdated location clean, there is visible pealing paint on the exterior of the hotel. Half the elevator button lights are broken. Hallway and entrance doors are broken and held together with black duct tape.
My deepest sympathies to the US Airways staff that are forced to use this location for lodging while traveling!!!!
Again if you are a female traveling alone or with children Do Not Stay at This Hotel!!!!

Room Tip: Do yourself a favor, spend the extra money and stay in a better hotel!!!

Econo Lodge was not close to the airport and the night desk man was behind a bullet proof plexiglass window for starters. The entire place had seen better days. The room was not clean and someone had clipped their toe nails between the two beds and the clipping were on the carpet. The beds were very old and if you moved, the squeaking nose from the springs would wake you. They had an old 20 year old full sized white refrigerator next to the dresser in the living room. Looked like it came out of someones dirty garage. When it shut off, it sounded like someone dropping a load a tin cans on the floor. We had a 2nd day booked there for our return trip to the airport for latter in the week, but we cancelled. I would not recommend this place even to a long hall truck driver.

Good value for money for overnight near Charlotte airport, outside entrace but felt safe, waffles and cold breakfast included. Good limousine service from airport, went downtown by taking limo to airport then sprinter service downtown, bus stop accross from hotel would have been longer and more complicated. As a room between flights was very economical at less than $50

I want to start by saying that the front desk clerk and shuttle driver were very friendly and efficient. Also the lobby was reasonably clean, and the breakfast area was as well. Breakfast was standard fare, with breads, packaged oatmeal, yogurt, etc....no proteins.

However, the room itself was absolutely disgusting and filthy. The bed had the kind of mattress you might see on the side of the highway after having fallen off the truck that was taking it to the dump. It was thin, old & worn and not at all comfortable. The covers were stained and worn. The carpet was dirty & looked like it had not been vacuumed in quite some time, as there were bits of paper, fluff, and dirt all about the room.

There was a nasty green "growth" on the wall near the lamp, which upon closer look, appeared to be a moldy bit of something stuck to the wall. There was also an area on the ceiling that had a black growth. This was not near any fan or vent that can cause dirt to build up. Upon closer look, this did appear to be moldy.

There was a 3 inch rip in the arm of the upholstered chair. The desk chair had a nasty stain the size of a large dinner plate or serving platter, that appeared to be dried urine. The back of the desk chair had 2 sticky stains which were unidentifiable. The dresser had a drawer that had the top rail of one of the drawers ripped off & had little jagged pieces of wood coming off it. There were 2 small holes in the walls (both around 2 inches long, but one a bit wider than the other).

The bathroom sink vanity was stained with cigarette burns and chips. The drain in the sink was covered in some sort of yellow goo. The bathtub was unbelievably filthy. The bottom was blackened and had streaks of nastiness all about it. There was mold around the rim of the tub, as well as some more of the questionable yellow goo like on the sink drain. The soap dish in the tub was clearly growing lots of mold.

The room was very noisy with traffic sounds coming from the freeway that is practically in the parking lot. I found that the traffic noise was, however, drowned out by the extremely loud and barely functioning air conditioning unit.

Had I not been so completely exhausted from spending 2 days in the airport after several cancelled flights and missed connections, I would have called a cab and gone elsewhere. As it was, I was so completely and utterly exhausted, I did stay the night. I did find that the tub/shower was just too filthy for me to be comfortable to stand in, so I skipped the shower in the morning.

I have lots of pictures in my Photobucket album that you can see here: http://s258.photobucket.com/user/ragarone/library/EconoLodge%20Charlotte%20Airport%20Room%20204

The hotel itself was pretty decent. The room was clean, the bed was good, and the breakfast with waffles, etc. was okay. A shuttle leaves for the airport about every 30 minutes. They permit you to park at the hotel for up to fifteen days for a fifteen dollar fee. It is a lot cheaper than airport parking. Overall, I thought the place was pretty decent. Airline crews stay there too, which also indicates it's pretty good.
