After Noble's closed for lunch, I was happy to discover that Rooster's was open just a few blocks away. The menu can best be described in my opinion as "traditional Southern comfort food, served with a gourmet flair". As you would expect the roasted chicken is excellent and the vegetables taste homemade like your grandma might have done them. The atmosphere is interesting with an open kitchen concept and several dozen stuffed chickens adoring the back wall. A nice lace for lunch in the South Park area.

I had read great reviews and, while I wasn't 100% convinced by the spartan descriptions on the menu, the place was wonderful. Our server was helpful and pleasant (enough so that it is worth noting - laughed at all our little jokes!), the food (we both had specials as appetizers, mussels and a pear, fennel salad with toasted pumpkin seeds - then I had a lamb leg special and my son had the grilled duck) was delightful - but be aware that the meat courses just have the meat. If you want a vegetable or potatos, corn, etc. - order it on the side. A very nice, trendy but comfortable feel to the place - with all ages. A good addition to our favorites-in-Charlotte list!

Went to Charlotte, NC for an academic conference and had dinner out with colleagues the first night. One of them, American, suggested I had to try Carolina BBQ pork shoulder which I chose (with side dishes). Huge variety of dishes on the menu, most of the food done on wood fire, Italianate, Southern, or generally American (Prince Edward Island mussels). Must come back one of the next days and try some of the other dishes. Nice atmosphere.
The Indian Pale Ale from the local nanobrewery was fantastic.
Of course, for us Europeans all restaurant food in the US is now very good value with the current exchange rate.

Good service and food! The waiter was very informative and another waitress even stopped by and talked to us. The food was hot and delicious. Location central to downtown area. The menu is a little expensive.

We tried Roosters on a Friday night and were not disappointed, the food was wonderful. Our server was great we could choose between two wine and she brought out both bottles so we could sample first. We ordered two of the specials for the night and both were great. Dinner was a treat and well worth the money, we will be going back in the future!
