Description: Chef-owned and operated, The Fig Tree Restaurant is located just minutes from Uptown in a beautifully restored 1913 bungalow. Chef Zanitsch's cuisine is Country European with an emphasis on wine pairing. The wine list is not only award-winning but also affordable; the service unsurpassed. Beautiful fireplaces glow in the fall and winter while alfresco dining on the veranda is a must in the spring and summer.

This restaurant has a diverse menu, but not too big. Wine options are plentiful and the service is always stellar. Located in an old house, it's variety of rooms and outdoor dining is perfect for special occasions.

We visited the Fig Tree for the first time but will come again soon and will bring our friends. We both ordered the veal chop and loved the entre. We both had the mixed salad. My wife added Gorgonzola while I added feta. Since it was a birthday dinner my wife ordered the Sinful Chocolate dessert and our waiter Zach added a lit candle. The food was outstanding, the service was equally wonderful. The atmosphere intimate. A special evening for my birthday girl!!!

Every single moment at The Fig Tree was a feast for the senses.

The atmosphere is elegant and romantic, but relaxing. The service anticipates your every need. The chefs delight your taste buds with a symphony of flavor only rivaled by the artistry of their presentation.

Everything about this restaurant is beyond compare.

When visiting The Fig Tree, plan to take your time and stay a while. This is a romantic restaurant with grown-up food, so leave the kids at Grandma's. It's your night. Spend the time to rekindle a love affair with your spouse.

Our server, Zack, knew everything about the menu, including where the elk were raised. Our glasses were always full, the silver was replaced with each course and everything was there right when we wanted it.

To any of you "frugal" guys out there: please don't be put off by the menu prices. This is one date night worth saving up for.

Relax and enjoy.

We were visiting Charlotte for the first time and found Fig Tree to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The atmosphere is wonderful. The food was outstanding. What made our celebration even better was the service provided by Zack. He understood it was our anniversary and provided just the right amount of attention; meaning he was very responsive but understood it was our time to celebrate. And then to make things even better after we got home we got a thank you note from Zack for allowing him to help us celebrate our anniversary. Great place. Highly recommended.

We visited the Fig tree for the first time for my wife's birthday. They sat us in a small room upstairs with 3 other tables. It was cozy and quiet. Our waiter was very attentive and always standing by fill our water glasses, refill our wine glasses, brought more bread, or take our dishes away yet not close enough to feel like he was hovering. My wife ordered the Elk Chop, first time trying this dish, and she thought it was almost better than beef. I had the veal chop and was not disappointed in the flavor and the proper cooking temperature that I had asked for. The dessert dishes came out with an extra flair and fancy design and not just a piece of cake put on a plate. Overall we found the setting, the meal and the staff all come together for a very enjoyable evening. I will admit the entire meal including wine was very pricey and although we enjoyed the evening it was not a place to frequent often other than a special occasion. Average meat dish was in the mid $30 price range and our entire bill including tip was over $200. We will still go back.
