Description: Chef-owned and operated, The Fig Tree Restaurant is located just minutes from Uptown in a beautifully restored 1913 bungalow. Chef Zanitsch's cuisine is Country European with an emphasis on wine pairing. The wine list is not only award-winning but also affordable; the service unsurpassed. Beautiful fireplaces glow in the fall and winter while alfresco dining on the veranda is a must in the spring and summer.

We visited the Fig tree for the first time for my wife's birthday. They sat us in a small room upstairs with 3 other tables. It was cozy and quiet. Our waiter was very attentive and always standing by fill our water glasses, refill our wine glasses, brought more bread, or take our dishes away yet not close enough to feel like he was hovering. My wife ordered the Elk Chop, first time trying this dish, and she thought it was almost better than beef. I had the veal chop and was not disappointed in the flavor and the proper cooking temperature that I had asked for. The dessert dishes came out with an extra flair and fancy design and not just a piece of cake put on a plate. Overall we found the setting, the meal and the staff all come together for a very enjoyable evening. I will admit the entire meal including wine was very pricey and although we enjoyed the evening it was not a place to frequent often other than a special occasion. Average meat dish was in the mid $30 price range and our entire bill including tip was over $200. We will still go back.

Excellent service and food. Plates were beautifully presented. Nicole was our server and she did an outstanding job. Even chased us to the parking lot with our forgotten "doggy bags".

Had foie gras, veal chop, flour less chocolate dessert. Nicole was a great waitress. Went with friends and took a bottle of wine. Our half of the bill was $177 plus tip. Well worth it!

It is a nice place and the food is ok but not for the price you pay. There is one dinner, the trout, which is $25. Everything else on the menu is $38 and up. And the portions are small. I had the venison chop. The service was very good but the bill for two dinners, one glass of wine, and two beers was $120. You can find other places with bigger portions for less money. It is nice for a special occasion but not pratical for a regular night out.

After hearing great reviews we decided to go to the Fig Tree. We were not disappointed. Seated quickly, served immediately and drinks and food arrived in a well spaced, timely manner. We had called two weeks before and had option of 6 or 8:30 - busy place. We especially enjoyed the Butterscotch Creme Brûlée dessert. We'll be back.
