Description: Chef-owned and operated, The Fig Tree Restaurant is located just minutes from Uptown in a beautifully restored 1913 bungalow. Chef Zanitsch's cuisine is Country European with an emphasis on wine pairing. The wine list is not only award-winning but also affordable; the service unsurpassed. Beautiful fireplaces glow in the fall and winter while alfresco dining on the veranda is a must in the spring and summer.

“Interesting menu, great service and good food.”
Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

We chose The Fig Tree as our restaurant of choice on our first visit to Charlotte. We were taking our son out for dinner just days before he was getting married so rather a celebratory meal. The Fig Tree did not disappoint, we started with a glass or two of champagne, were given plenty of time to chat over the interesting menu and never once felt rushed, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant that Monday night. The appetizers were very tasty, and our choice of Scallops, Lamb and Veal for our main dishes were delicious and a good selection of wines to choose from. Would most certainly recommend The Fig Tree, a very well managed and privately run business.

“You can do better. Save your hard earned money”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

First time here. My wife's scallop appetizer WAS quite tasty. However, my lobster hush puppies were a joke. I think they waved a lobster at them. Robbery to charge someone $10 for a fifty cent side dish. Salads were pretty good especially if you fork out the two dollars for each goodie on your salad. Most places just add cheese to your salad without charging for it. My wife's veal chop was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. My lamb chops were good and bad. The two bone combo was actually quite tasty. However, the larger three bone piece must have come from a lamb prior to gastric bypass surgery since it was pure fat and no meat. I wouldn't give it another chance and don't recommend you give it your first chance.

Have dined here several times the latest was very disappointing. The service was great it was the quality if the food. When you are charging the prices they charge you expect good food. The elk was over cooked and tough. The vegetables were nothing special. the oysters were pretty good. Don't have duck on the menu which my husband loves.

Went here for an anniversary dinner the food and ambiance was wonderful. Prices are a little high, but worth it for a special occasion.
