“A Great Day of Adventure”

This is a phenomenal facility that offers something for everyone. The whitewater rafting is great and fun for the whole family. There are other things to do like a climbing wall, biking and hiking. This is a must if you are visiting in NC or the Charlotte/Asheville area.

I have also utilized this facility to offer team building opportunities to leaders. The Center also has classrooms on site.

Reviewed April 15, 2014

My grandchildren from Michigan came to visit me and we all wen to the US National Whitewater
Center. They loved the zip line and rock climbing and I had fun watching and taking pictures.
Didn't go rafting thought the water would be too cold, so maybe on their next visit,

“I love this place!”

There is so much to do here. Because we live close, we tend to go to the concerts on Thursdays and Saturdays in the late Spring and Summer. I have never had a bad day at the Whitewater Center. Last year my nephews came down for Spring Break and they have't stopped talking about it.

An interesting place to sit out on the terrace and have lunch, take a walk, or raft and kayak! An unusual attraction for Charlotte...

“Better to travel to a real river”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

Rafting there can be fairly continuous, but the scenery never changes. I was put off a year or two back when the safety lecture included more than a few mentions of how the guides expected to be tipped. They do put on a safe program and you will have fun, but you will be on the clock and you cannot go without a guide. Check out the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) for a real outdoor experience in multiple locations, not too far away. I went to this 'national center' before they began charging for parking, and then they got real hungry and made you pay to park in a dusty and unorganized lot. Maybe they have it paved by now. I hate to pay for parking and then pay again just to get in.
