This is a very family friendly place. I think they really take safety serious. They make you go through orientation and a safety talk before you do the activities. We got the all inclusive day pass which included white water rafting and ziplining. One tip is the first thing you should do it sign up for a rafting time. Times can fill up quickly so you want to get your name in as soon as you get there. The first time we rafted we took it easy. We were able to reserve a 2nd raft time in the afternoon and asked the guide to make it a little more adventurous with the consent of the other rafters. It was a wild ride. Another great thing to check out is in the summer they have live bands on Thursday night and there is a beer garden. There is no need to buy a pass to attend this event. You just pay the parking fee. You can relax with a beer, listen to music and watch the rafters in the background.

Water water everywhere and climbing walls as well. This is a full day of family related activities. From age 4 to 63 your white water activities(safe settings), zip line (s), bike riding, nature trails plus.WOW. Even the food was fairly tasty and not over priced , I think you bting your own and eat outside the main area.I would go when is 80 degree or higher because you will get wet.

My 13 year old daughter and I had a blast. So much to do and you stay active. The best part is there is no junk food peddlers and everyone is friendly. The restaurant there is fabulous and reasonably priced. Which is good because the only downside is your not allowed to bring a cooler in and it would be really cool to picnic there. I will go back many times!

Real asset to Charlotte allowing for an escape to the mountains only 20 minutes from the city center instead of two hours to the Smokey's, Blue Ridge, or Appalachian Mountains. They've done a great job adding mountain biking, trails, zipline, elevated ropes course, and canoe/kayaking on the Catawba River in addition to the whitewater rafting and kayaking.

We visited on a Wednesday outside of any holiday or (obviously) weekend so can't comment on what it would be like during peak times. We did a Family Level white water rafting and had a fantastic (and extremely safe) experience. The whole day was great for us (2 adults and 2 children aged 7 and 10). Our 7 year old is tall for her age so she could do all of the activities that were open but for the average 7 year old height could be a limitation on some activities. To compare cost, the child entry was just under $50, one of the activities, rock climbing, would have, at a centre I located in Richmond, cost $14 plus a further $14 for the auto belay. We arrived at 10:30 am and left (extremely exhausted) at 5:30 pm.
