I was looking for something different to do with my college-age child who is in school in Charlotte - and this was a great idea (thanks to reviews on tripadvisor, I tried it). We don't kayak/whitewater raft (yet!), but went on the 3 hour "canopy" tour, which mainly featured ziplines ... for the 1st half! Then we got to the part that had signs about a "Challenge" course (sounds very different from a Canopy Tour, no?). I had been forewarned about the rope bridges - but there were many and they were daunting - but doable. Peer pressure (child pressure - I couldn't really crawl away) is a great motivator! It was really, really fun. We went for the earliest tour and, while there can be up to 8-10 people, we just had 4 (and the 2 guides), which was part of the reason for picking the earliest (10 a.m.) time. Afterward, we saw the zillions of activities that the place has to offer and will definitely go there again.

There are plenty of outdoor activities at the whitewater center for everyone from the most adventurous to the faintest of heart. Get a great workout on the rock wall or bike trails, cool off in the water, both rapids or flat, or challenge your fear of heights on the ropes course or mega jump. If none of that suits you, relax with a beer at the restaurant and live vicariously through everyone else (that part is free!)

Couldn't believe the amount of activities available for the low price. Gorgeous park, great activities for everyone (kids to experienced outdoors enthusiasts), and a great restaurant/bar on site.

All of my visitors, old and young, love the whitewater center. They have family and adventure rafting, so something for everyone. Rafting and ziplining seem to be the favorites for my family. Beautiful place and great luch restaurant.
