This was our second visit to Morazon. We were again amazed at the wide variety of dishes available and freshness of the food.. They had lunches/dinners from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua, plus ample "staple Mex-Am" dishes, too.. The clientele was mostly Latinos (both single guys and large families) but many of the servers were bilingual.. A few soccer matches were on the televisions, but it was not the focus of the establishment (at least not on a Saturday afternoon).
We ordered the Guatemalan grilled platter (Parrillada Guatemalteca) which included chicken, fish, sausage, ribs, rice & beans, salad, fried plantains, and shrimp. It was beautifully presented and was enough for three of us. The kids had Salvadoran pupsas and Mexican quesadillas (fresh & stuffed with large portions of cheese).. The tastes reminded us of our seven-months of living in Guatemala.
If you are driving through CLT on I-77, you can't miss the "Restaurant with the Lighthouse," clearly the remnants of an old sea food restaurant. Please stop by and sample the great variety of Central American food, you will not be disappointed-
