We had an excellent meal as always but this time was even better! My fish of the day, "Mare" , was an assortment of kingfish, carb cake, scallops and salmon. It was wonderful. Service, food, and ambience was wonderful.

My wife and I had dinner here recently on a Friday night. The restaurant is cozy and inviting, with a comfortable bar area. We arrived about ten minutes before our reservation, checked in with the host, and told him we would be at the bar.

About 15-20 minutes after our reservation time, I asked the host if our table would be ready soon. He had clearly forgotten about us. The table was ready in about another 10 minutes. Service throughout the meal was pleasant, but not particularly prompt nor engaging.

We sampled two different antipasti dishes and two pasta courses. All were good, but none so special that either of us insist the other try it. We both had the grilled grouper special, very competently grilled but nearly unadorned. Homemade gelato to top it off was perhaps the best part of the meal.

In short, we had a good but not great meal, and a good but not memorable experience, at prices that should have delivered on one count, if not both. Charlotte offers many fine dining options; I would not choose Luce among them again.

This is not your typical Italian restaurant. You will not find the typical dishes that most people are familiar with. What you will find are a wide variety of excellently prepared and displayed dishes. We were seated quickly and were given just the right amount of attention throughout the evening even though it was crowded. We tried a few of the appetizers including the prosciutto e mozzarella, the cheese plate, and the "polipo" or grilled octopus. If you've never had good octopus, you need to try this. For entrees we had the osso bucco which was superb, the seared scallops which were prepared perfectly, and the "mare" which was a large amount of seafood served over linguine. The food was as good as I've ever had. There was a large choice of wines that appeared to be mostly Italian. Our Barbera d'Asti was fantastic. I can't wait for another occasion to return.

Always looking for great Italian in Charlotte- this was top notch.
Not sure how a restaurant can make ravioli that much better- but it was.
My guests were a bit disappointed with the scallops- salty. But the service made this experience worthy of a wonderful evening.

While in Charlotte for the Thanksgiving Holiday my wife and I decided to have a nice Italian dinner. We were not disappointed. Luce does a very nice job of making you feel at home. We ordered a glass of rose to start, it was a bit too cold; once it warmed up it was better.
We did not order from the wine list as we brought in a bottle we had purchased and paid the $20 corkage fee. The food menu was great and the dishes we ordered were well prepared and tasty.
The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. As we parked in the Hearst tower where the restaurant is, they validated which was a bonus! Excellent experience and we would recommend it to others.
