So Aquavina is a pretty small place. If you plan on eating there, make a reservation.
When we showed up, we had made a reservation, but the server there, Brian, was a total jerk and said we did not have one. When the other server, Christin, said that we did and pointed it out, Brian decided to chuck a pen across the hostess table at us. We asked Christin if she could make sure she was our server and she told us no problem. And she was great.
We started with the Blue Crab Fondue, which was very good. The baguette toast was a little harder than my wife would have liked, but I thought it was fine.
I had the shrimp and grits, which was nice and tasty, but could have used a little more heat, i.e. spice. She had the salmon, which I tasted, and was good as well.
I do feel like Aquavina is a little overpriced. I've had comparable meals for $5-$10 less than at Aquavina. So if you're looking to impress someone with price, hit Aquavina; if not, try a place that is not in uptown like Zada Jane's or the Dish.
