My wife and I had an early Saturday dinner with our UNCC son. Upon arrival we were promptly seated and the traditional chips and salsa were served to the table. Salsa was seasoned, but nothing to set it apart from other Mexican restaurants, such as some fresh cilantro. I selected the burrito and taco (crispy) combination served with refried rice and beans. Food was served hot and was tasty, but again, nothing special to make me want to return.
With the many Mexican restaurants, I'd like to see some effort put into fresh ingredients, sauces and tastes, Don't look for it at Monterrey.
