“Love dining in the bar”

Bartenders are the best. Love the "Bar Bites" menu -- seems to always hit the spot when a full meal is not needed.

“Terrible Service, followed by terrible food”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

Ok, big date night with my wife… Tickets to the Eagles concert in hand, wanted a great meal beforehand, and Morton’s was known for their great food and service. I made my reservation well beforehand at 6:00, as it is only a 5 minute walk to the concert, and I wanted a nice relaxed evening.. Arrived promptly at 6:00 only to be told that we needed to wait 10 to 15 minutes, as they just seated a lot of people, yet, empty tables were plentiful, but they said they didn’t have enough servers… No problem, we had plenty of time.. Got seated at 6:15 and were given the menu’s and told the specials..

By 6:25, we had ordered drinks, small appetizer, a Wedge Salad and two of the same specials they were featuring, as it sounded that good.. Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail… Told the waitress that we were ordering it all now, as we had a concert to go to. Got our beer and wine and settled in for a lovely evening… WRONG.. Had to ask twice for the bread, which was just ok.. Appetizer came out at 6:40 so doing well, right?? WRONG.... Asked for the salad twice and it finally came out at 7:20. Asked for another wine and beer, which she forgot.. Grabbed the manager walking by and asked him to check on our food and he apologized and said he would get right on it, also asked him to find the waitress with our drinks..

Waitress comes by with our drinks and apologized as they ran out of beer glasses so I was given a warm water glass for my beer… It is now 7:40 and concert starts in 20 minutes and after glaring at the manager, we finally get our meal.. When the waitress brought our food, asked for the check right away, as did not want to wait for that.. The “Special” which was priced at $52.00 was the worst Filet Mignon we have ever had.. Small, tasteless, overcooked, not even warm hunk of beef… It did NOT even have seasoning on it.. The lobster tails were just warm, but they were chewy and dry and I only got three bites out of mine.. Rushed through it, as we are hungry and took all of 4 minutes to eat it.. It is now 7:50… So we have to GO, but no sign of waitress or our check… Waited until 7:55 and took out a $100.00 bill and gave it to the manager who was trying to calm down another angry table and told him the food and service was the worst ever… He did not say a word.. We walked out late for our concert and crooked as sin..

Never go to Morton’s Steak House, as they don’t care about you… The service and food were the worst ever and they ruined a great date night… Shame on your Morton’s Steak House..

“Good steak, but...”
Reviewed November 13, 2013 via mobile

It is expensive, stuffy and predictable.

I just don't want to go there too often.

They push hard for you to spend a lot and eat a lot... Not a great feel.

But the steak is very good, so is the seafood, and the fatty desserts...

“Consistency and great service”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

I do quite a bit of business entertaining. There are some excellent restaurant and steakhouse choices in Charlotte, but Morton's is my favorite. The staff is professional, attentive, fun, and unobtrusive. The food - always terrific. From the lump sum crab cocktail, to the steak, lobster and multiple sides every meal is always terrific. I like that you can bring your own wine selections and just pay a corkage fee.

“Really erratic.”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

We've been here several times. Sometimes it's excellent. Sometimes just fair. Last night the steak was way over salted. We asked for the chopped salad without cheese but it came anyway. Massed potatoes were lumpy. For 3 drinks, a salad, and 2 over salted steaks for a mere $200 not a good night. Not in a hurry to return. A restaurant in this price class should be good every time.
