We ate here on a Wednesday evening & the place was rocking! A casual pub-like
atmosphere with a huge bar on the main floor as well as on the upper level. In
warmer weather, they have a rooftop seating area with one of the best
dining views of the Charlotte skyline. The food is creatively presented & Southern
comfort food comes to mind, but with a very positive twist. Farm to fork is
practiced here, with heavy support of the local growers.
Appetizers include 'Devils on Horseback', with the traditional dates replaced by figs-yum!,
and a small bowl of bourbon baked brie with lingonberry preserves, apple compote, &
crusty bread. Our mains were a St. Louis style baby back fall off the ribs with bourbon BBQ sauce & collards plus a dish called Peculiar Pork- with a side of creamed sweet potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts, & fluff topped with praline nuts & a cranberry/sweet pepper agrodolce. If you've never had pork belly, this version is off the charts. You need to get your rear-end over here-NOW!! My hats off to Chef
