“The best chicken ever!”
Reviewed August 21, 2013 via mobile

I was a great surprise this restaurant, I had the best chicken in my life. Service was very good, and the place is very nice as welll, but the food is really special. I would recommend the natural half chicken.

“Unusual and delicious!”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Warm, cozy, rustic feel to this "larger than it feels" restaurant. Delicious food although the menu is a bit difficult to navigate if you are new to the restaurant. It would have been nice if the server had asked the typical "is this your first visit" and then given a quick rundown of how to manage the menu. Basically, it's a tapas restaurant. All plates are small (even entrees), so everything is al a carte...veggies, pastas, salads, etc. House smoked salmon definitely had the "smokey" taste, fried oysters were lightly breaded and delicious (although not quite as good as King's Kitchen). We also had the salmon, duck confit, short ribs, sea bass (a nightly special), grits with bacon, succotash, mac and cheese. The only real "miss" was the sea bass. It was served as a complete meal with potatoes and just didn't have a lot of flavor other than being very salty. The short ribs and mac and cheese were the grand prize winners. We continued to talk about both dishes days later! We ordered the molten lava cake for dessert, but there was no "lava". The manager was very apologetic and even took it off our bill. Really love this restaurant. Would definitely go back and would feel a little more educated of how to order.

“Farm to table eating at its best!”
Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

Excellent food, cooked well and served beautifully.
The roasted beets are wonderful, flavorful and the waitress told me there is some juniper in the preparation! Unique and fantastic.
The specials are all local ingredients...locavores will be glad to know.
The short rib is slow cooked for 10 hours with delicious results!
We were underwhelmed with the polenta, but that was the ONLY disappointment.
They have delicious dessert selections and the wine list is impressive.
If you'd like you can sit bar style around the kitchen area and watch the chefs do their thing.
A great experience!

Chicken was excellent however side dishes were very salty not sure if it was a chef error but be warned if this is the norm
